Korita Mostnice, near Stara Fužina / Lake Bohinj, Slovenia. I clambered up one of the side canyons to get in close to these waterfalls.

This is a focus stack drawing from 4 sets of 5 exposures, merged/preprocessed with AuroraHDR, focus stacked (automatically) usign Photoshop, and some retouching using Lumenzia and Luminar (as a Photoshop plugin).

Between AuroraHDR's batch mode, and Photoshops automatic blending, focus stacked landscapes are a breeze. Previously I'd found the idea of blending in multiple images too much effort/daunting, so I was using just one bracket and ignoring the rest of the set. Likely makes little to no difference sharing on flickr/facebook with the current resolutions supported, but will be important for printing since I've captured all the distant detail, and now I can effortlessly pull that in to my workflow (takes more time, but is automated enough it costs me little).

I process once in AuroraHDR to produce a preset, batch apply it to all brackets (gives me a set of TIFs), which I pass the photoshop to work out which parts of the image to blend in to maximise focus throughout. Then I flatten the result to a single TIF, which is the starting point I would have had if I'd just used a single exposure/bracket, and can work from there.

Still so busy ... and didn't get to catch up during my retreat because I was soooooo scheduled! It was wonderful - like a vacation from myself - because I had no time to dwell on all the things I normally dwell on. Ah ... sweet relief! :)

Hope to visit your streams soon!!! <3

I picked up a circular polarizer filter for the Nifty Fifty yesterday and this was the first image that passed through it's glass. I think I'm in love. (o;

Hello my lovely Flickr friends.

I'm still around ;) I'm sorry for my absence but life has taken over big time. I hope you are all fit and well and I look forward to catching up with you soon.

Much love.

An epic sunset from the Rialto Bridge few years ago. I had to "fight" with the crowd to keep my tripod still while taking a long exposure.

This is why I have decided to get shorter exposures of 30s and then stack all of them to create a longer exposure.

Stacking of 6 consecutive photos.

Milan is a city where is quite rare to see beautiful clouds. The sky may be either overcast or clear, but rarely with beautiful and defined clouds! Few days ago I was in the office and when I saw this awesome sky, I couldn't resist to shot a quick photo from the window. I hope you like the reflections and the hypnotic effect. :-)

i woke up at 0330am this morning, left the house at 0415am and reached Oak Street by 0525am and parked in front of Drake Hotel....had enough time to scout around Oak Street beach for the spot to capture that moment when the skies would explode in full color as soon as the sun starts to peek out....me and another fella at this point just started shooting away...i even had shots with a couple of early morning swimmers splashing thru my frame, will post those later....pls. took my wife, Delight, to Lake McCullom today after we had dinner out to wrap up our weekend date with a beautiful sunset...i asked her if she would sit on the bench so i could get a silhoutte figure in this shot but she was a bit shy, so here i am almost on my belly with no tripod for this shot to get a different and interesting perspective....used a circular polarizer for this shot and then cropped the frame for a wide screen effect....pls. Hope everyone is having a peaceful and restful day.

Anyone want to go to Venice?!!

I was tidying up my catalogue of photos earlier and came across this shot that I had previously overlooked. It's a throw back from my trip last summer but I thought it was worth sharing.

The light at sunrise is always very special but in Venice it's beyond words.

Hope you enjoy this image as much as I enjoyed taking it!

A glorious sunrise this morning made even the mundane look like something from heaven. I was stopped for this shot when I turned around and saw the shadows on the fog.

Angled stones, placed askew by long ago persons to form a disjointed low wall, frame the view toward the distant Sørfjorden on the route toward the summit of Utegardsnipa near Bruvik, Norway.

The trail from the fjord to Utegardsnipa is steep, gaining 2,500 ft (760 m) in 1.9 miles (3 km). As the boys appear to be made of muscle, rubber bands, and springs these days, they experienced no significant difficulties, and it was up to the older members of the party (i.e., my wife and me) to provide an example of what sweating, huffing, and puffing looks like. We encountered a single person on the trail the entire day, and he was a local from the town of Bruvik that is not far away. He mentioned that he climbs up here regularly and that he rarely sees tourists, and he wondered how we found the place. As it turned out, my wife had the idea to scour the web pages of companies offering walking tours out of Bergen, where we were staying, and I then matched potential destinations with pointy looking places on our topographic maps. I replied that this particular route looked promising, and the fellow indicated he thought we had chosen well.

Later in the day when we returned to the rental vehicle we discovered a singular downside to the day's adventure: dozens of sand-grain-sized ticks clung to the outside of our trousers, and a few had found their way inside the pant legs. This induced no small amount of queasiness followed by careful searching of all articles of clothing before climbing into the automobile. A quick internet search suggested that ticks in Norway are prevalent with Lyme disease. Some weeks later we have not seen the typical 'bulls-eye' on any of our persons despite having to remove several from my son and my wife.

Thanks for looking, and I hope to catch up with people's posts at some point!

Whilst post processing this image, which I found quite difficult, my wife said it looked magical, hence the title!

This was taken in the Waterfall Country Woodlands, near Ystradfellte in South Wales. If you review my photostream, you will notice that this is an area I have visited a few times now.

The Moab Rim separates Spanish Valley from the maze of curved fins in the Behind The Rocks wilderness study area. Here, a break in the rim reveals Spanish Valley and the La Sal Mountains beyond, near Moab, Utah.

When one arrives at the trailhead, the route is difficult to discern and it appears that the trail simply disappears into an off-vertical steep field of boulders and giant rocks. The trail climbs about 650 feet in 0.6 miles, and for those who enjoy Type II fun (i.e., suffering), the view you see here is the reward from the top of the climb.
