The Yellow-chevroned Parakeet, a native to tropical South America, now has established populations in Southern California. My husband heard them squawk as they flew to our Jacaranda tree in the backyard.
They were high in the tree amidst the leaves and the branches making a good shot difficult. And to top it off, they arrived at noon with the sun right overhead. Not the best conditions...oh, well!

Crease Patterns for my Chevron Corrugation family (some variants were also independently designed by others). CPs for several variants are included as well as generic methods of creating new variants. These instructions also describe my scheme for naming different variants using supermolecules — tiles consisting of repeating combinations of molecules pointing up (U) and down (D).
Here you can see high-res pictures of some Chevron Corrugation variants:

I'm working on a "power animal" series that combines traditional patterns and silhouettes with pops of color. A twist on the traditional.
Chevron Squirrel is stitched in three different colors of plum colored cotton floss on baby blue linen.
I went to town this week on swirls and beads! It started off being a random swirl pattern but it began to remind me of a sort of tree so I added the overlapped stitches below to represent grasses with buttons for flowers. Blogged here - randomapplique.blogspot.com/2007/02/take-stitch-tuesday-c...

Used the Wiksten tank dress pattern and a striped pima cotton fabric that I had in my stash and kind of hated and thought I'd never use. I'm surprised at how much more l like the fabric now that it's a chevron pattern. I raised the front neckline 1" and lowered the back of the neck 3/4".

Inspired by Bijou Lovely's flickr stream and taking a cue from what I can tell are my partner's taste in colors, I think I will incorporate this patchwork into my creation for the pretty little pouch swap.
***Note to scrappy herringbone bee friends: This is an older photo. Just thought it would be fun to add this to the group!
