WEEK 15 – Mansfield, OH, Target (V)
From pretty much the same vantage point (as indicated by that annoying Tide display blocking the bottom half of our view, lol) but turned the other direction, here's a shot peeking over at the checkouts. Looks like this store only has 15, maybe 16 checklanes total. That's actually fewer than Horn Lake, which has 18 – although if you want to count only operational registers, then this store happens to have more, since Horn Lake's checkouts 13-18 all no longer have computers at them!

For my final set of Hernando Walmart update pics (acting as teasers for my Friday and Saturday Olive Branch Walmart photosets), we’ll be taking a look at some October 2018 images of all the new self-checkouts the store received that fall. Not only were the original units over on the grocery side of the store replaced with fresh, updated units, the opposite (GM) side of the store received its own set of self-checkouts, too. (cont.)

Checkouts
This location was one of the first two Giant Eagle stores to open in the Columbus market in November 2000. The site previously housed a Hospitality Motor Inn location. At 111,131 square feet, this store was very large for a traditional Giant Eagle store, maybe even the largest non Market District location in the chain at the time it closed. This location's sister location in Lewis Center was a little larger originally, but a couple years ago downsized and split some space off to Staples. Giant Eagle closed this store on March 4, 2017. The GetGo gas station is staying open despite the main store being closed.
This photo was taken on March 4th, the final day of the store.

This very typical, 77,496 square foot, Giant Eagle supermarket was opened in 2001. The store also had a kiosk style GetGo gas station out front. On March 4th, 2017, this store was closed.

WEEK 31 – Hernando Kroger
Welp, it’s been fun, but our stour is drawing to a close :( Before we leave, here’s a look at the checkout lanes from behind. You can see how the service department island divides the store in this view. Also, that dark area in the background is usually light – that’s where the entrance vestibule is, so sunlight usually streams in, but it was nighttime when this shot was taken.

Store 721. This store originally opened on March 1, 1995 and relocated from an older Division 1 store at US-41 and Cochran Boulevard, which originally opened in 1985. That location has since been subdivided into Staples, Big Lots, and Books-a-Million.
