Just had a lovely girls weekend away in Amsterdam. We went to see the beautiful Anna Tysgankova dance Tatiana in Onegin with Dutch National Ballet and I wish I’d had this gorgeous outfit from Mimikri to wear that night (though I think some of the older members of the audience might have fainted at the idea of someone wearing a bomber jacket to the ballet!). I took Avery out of her pajamas to have a final walk on the beach tonight. She has seriously been talking about this trip since January. She woke up with a huge smile (at 5:15 am) when I told her we were going to the beach. Unfortunately, we had to 'find' the beach for about 6 hours before we arrived. I was relieved when we made it...I thought she was really gonna think her mom and daddy were liars...
When I put her tutu on her she said...ohh, I'm gonna dance with the prince in my 'bootiful' dress.
I cant believe how much she has grown since last time we were here last year. More to come...new lens+beach= lots of picture fun!

Sandhil Cranes fly out of one of there overnight ponds, that they use to avoid predators. They will spend the day in the surrounding fields foraging for food. Contrary to what I thought, New Mexico was very very cold over night and in the early mornings. The water had frozen around some of the cranes legs.
My oldest son checking out the "Front Office " of a B-52 bomber at the Strategic Air Command Museum outside of Omaha, Nebraska. With 8 jet engines, the amount of instrumentation can make the cockpit a busy place.

It's nice to see California Adventure finally getting into the Halloween Spirit this year. If you get a chance be sure to checkout the Headless Horseman Statue.
I am sure there will be better photos at better angles, but this was the best I could do with Tripods everywhere and security standing right behind me. Hope to get another shot at this before the Headless Horseman rides off into the night.

This apparatus was a curious find east of North Platte, NE on the Union Pacific Railroad. I caught this empty ethanol train returning from Norfolk Southern and running through this complex multi-camera system just east of town. As best I can tell, this is a Beena Vision TrainView train inspection system. The next-generation system is able to take high-resolution images of the entire outside of the train. From their website:
"The system uses several sensors and algorithms to pinpoint axle position, car beginning and car end positions, car components such as safety appliances, ladders and handholds, hopper door and their handles, brake hose, truck components such as side frame, springs, and car components such as brake, etc."
The scanner is able to pick up on defective car parts or foreign objects and let the railroad know about them quicker.

I kind of disclosed this photo before I put it up. The main reason it has taken so long is there is an original and a lighter version but I have stuck up the OG which might be a little darker than I would've liked. Believe it or not the last of the swoops livery is bowing out after around 12 years. The last fitting were the last to be introduced in the livery in the height of summer 2015. So, here we see Lothian buses 563 on Research Avenue while on service 35 duties approaching the University terminus.
After seeing the season 2 trailer for Rebels I knew I had to make these guys. Their torso all started as the basic clone wars trooper torso and if you want to know any additional details you can checkout the showcase video on my YouTube.
