I figured this would be a good opportunity to return to the Mentor Super Kmart, especially since it was lunchtime. I got a corn dog and some macaroni and cheese from the deli; they both tasted very good! I was expecting it to be another year before I returned, so it was nice to go back after only two weeks before actually having to wait until next summer.

The level of activity there was pretty encouraging. I had passed the nearby Walmart on the way up and it and the Super Kmart had the same amount of traffic. On top of that, eight checkouts were open and there were a lot of young shoppers playing in the Video Arcade among other things (the nail salon had a lot of foot traffic as well!). The checkout was fast and the people were friendly. It was a great time at the Mentor Super Kmart!

Destination AirBnB style from January 4th 2021 to January 15th 2021.

I LOVE this destination too much to delete it already and you are too many out there wanting to come, so my AirBnB destinations will start with this one, meaning you will be able to come, rent cabins for the night or nights you want, enjoy the services of the local restaurant and spa we have in town and do activities all available for you to do on your own.

There won't be Asha staff, but I will be there to always welcome you, give your cabin, show you around and let you enjoy on your own till you checkout.

What I love most is create these places for all to enjoy, I just don't want the stress anymore it brings to run these places because my health doesn't allow me anymore BUT, I will keep bringing them to you, offering the restaurant spots and spa spot for others who already own these businesses to come and offer you these services.

So if you have missed this destination, Asha style, now you can still enjoy it AirBnB style.

This collage follows the same template as my Canon EOS Prime Lens collage so comparing lenses between the two should be easy. I am not as familiar with these lenses as I am with Canon's lenses and there is a fair chance I might have left one or two out, if I did I would like to know. Like the Canon lense collage, I divided the lense market into: budget lenses, mid-range lenses, and high-end lenses. It is not as easy to differentiate between high-end lenses as with Canon, because Canon designated their high-end lenses with "LSeries". Just like Canon, all of the telephoto primes are high priced, but I divided them up mainly based on lense speed. New Sony owners should be Aware that there are older Minolta lenses out there that they could buy for their new cameras.

WEEK 12 – BAM Southaven Relocation: Old Store, Set 1

Why do I sound so melancholy talking about the café? Well, I try to use past tense anyway when referring to buildings of the past (like this store, since it has since relocated, although I admit I often do a poor job of sticking to one tense in my photosets), but making matters sadder is that Joe Muggs did not make the move with the rest of the store, as I discussed before here. That was due to the new location being smaller than this store, by pretty much the exact size of this area :( Luckily, the café employees were retrained and kept on staff.

Here, we’re looking from Joe Muggs’s counter up toward the store’s checkouts and the front left corner.

While driving to Saskatoon last June I had the fortune of coming across a pair of foxes that were playing in a field right next to their den...

Unfortunately I did not get to see any pups but this male decided to hang around outside the den (the female went in rather quickly after seeing me)...

He allowed me to get rather close (about 30 feet)... and at one time he decided to come and check me out and wondered over within about 15 feet of me, though he showed absolutely no agressive behaviour...

Over a 10 minute or so period I took over 100 shots and this is just one of them... taken when he was wondering over towards me... I am not sure of the meaning of the one ear up one down, but I thought it was a rather cute pose...

NASA astronauts Douglas Hurley, left, and Robert Behnken, wearing SpaceX spacesuits, are seen as they depart the Neil A. Armstrong Operations and Checkout Building for Launch Complex 39A during a dress rehearsal prior to the Demo-2 mission launch, Saturday, May 23, 2020, at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. NASA’s SpaceX Demo-2 mission is the first launch with astronauts of the SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft and Falcon 9 rocket to the International Space Station as part of the agency’s Commercial Crew Program. The test flight serves as an end-to-end demonstration of SpaceX’s crew transportation system. Behnken and Hurley are scheduled to launch at 4:33 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, May 27, from Launch Complex 39A at the Kennedy Space Center. A new era of human spaceflight is set to begin as American astronauts once again launch on an American rocket from American soil to low-Earth orbit for the first time since the conclusion of the Space Shuttle Program in 2011. Elsewhere along the front end – in a more noticeable change (lol!) – was the addition of four self-checkout units to this store's roster of registers. Unlike all the previous photos, which solely showcase updates undertaken this year, these self-checkouts were actually installed *at least* by the time of last year's Target Sunday Summer Spectacular, since I mentioned them in the description to this photo. I say “at least” because that photo was taken in 2016, so there's a chance that the units could even have been installed back then!

Unfortunately, I don't remember when these were installed. But they have been here long enough for me to practically forget how this area looked before! I'm thinking, though, that there were four very small checkouts here, likely for customers with 10 items or less. As I recall (if I'm recalling correctly XD ), those were rarely (if ever) in operation. So there's no doubt that these self-checkouts are a great improvement over those previous checklanes.

(EDIT: Yes! I am remembering correctly. Just realized you can see the previous units on the right of this shot.)

Incidentally, self-checkouts are yet another feature that seems to have been implemented in most Target stores, but has yet to make it to Horn Lake. Also, talk about a quick turnaround: I had to run to this store just yesterday in order to take this so that a pic of the self-checkouts could be included in today's set! XD

Big Lots FINALLY reopened its Olean store after a nearly 6-month long remodel....

The store actually shrunk a bit a bit and honestly left me a little disappointed with their new product selection. The store cut back many departments back to move furniture from its prior alcove space into the store itself. Furniture has been expanded to cover at least 1/3 of the sales floor.

Big Lots stupidly cut toys back from 4-5 aisles before to 1 and 1/2 now. Electronics (taking an aisle) is now just the basic headphone and cellphone accessories. I don't recall seeing any movies or video games. Home Office (previously two aisles) supplies looked to have either been cut entirely or share space with the electronics in that one aisle by offering basic pens and pencils.

This location previously sold at least an aisle's worth of hosiery and at least a 1/2 aisle for diy and auto care products. Those departments looked to have been removed entirely.
