Love it or hate it this is one badass Lexus. 2JZ swap, upgraded turbo, custom everything, one-off widebody.

WEEK 52 – Southaven Burlington Relocation: Finale (Buck's Bargain Center)
As I was exiting, I tried my best to discreetly get this shot of the checkout counters beyond that front end dividing wall I showed you earlier in this set. Frankly, I'm surprised at how well this turned out, lol! You can see each of the apparently-four (earlier in this album, I said there were only three: whoops, my bad!) lanes is joined by an endcap with yet more merchandise placed on it, and three out of four have Coke fridges as well. And don't forget the front wall, too, which – you guessed it! – has even more stuff for sale placed along its length!
Surprisingly, for being at the front end – and having sodas for sale – none of the endcaps look to be stocked with candy. That seems quite odd to me. I mean, regardless of the store type, it seems like EVERY store has candy at the checkouts! And speaking of candy... a Moon Pie is one of the many things set to be dropped tonight at midnight to ring in the new year. That used to air here in Memphis on WMC-TV 5, until the program was dropped (pun intended :P ) a few years ago. What's the weirdest New Year's Eve object-drop that you know of?

I didn't realize how small candy/magazine racks were then until I saw this.
At the end of the registers where the Bakery is shown was a snack bar when this was A&P. The fake wood paneling was left over from A&P.

WEEK 51 – OB WM, Set III
Instead of an electronics desk, the Olive Branch Walmart just has two checkouts, kinda like you usually see in the garden center. Of course, these checkouts are the old black ones just like up front! The poster features a similarly old photograph of Don Robertson, the store manager, wearing his old Wal-Mart nametag.

On our way to the Moon the flight control team used the cameras on the Orion's solar wings to do a thorough inspection of the spacecraft. The vehicle is healthy and we're proceeding to the Outbound Powered Flyby on Monday, November 21 which will take us as close as 80 miles to the surface of the Moon.

For this Target 500, we'll be going clockwise around the store. (Seems like most of my photosets of this store have done so, but on all of my visits it's much more of a toss-up as to which way I'll go!) As we head on down toward entertainment, here's a view of the checkouts, as seen from the girls' section. Note the one-way mirror on the right side of the shot: since removed for a family restroom.

Looks like the back of all the little checklane lights have various little sayings on them, or at least the non-express checklane lights do - cool little touch! Can't read the one down on the aisle 3 light unfortunately...

One thing I feel worth mentioning is that this store has two entrances instead of one like most Kmart stores do. The main entrance is straight ahead in this photo. The other entrance is outside of this photo to the right. The other entrance is near the restaurant. The lowered ceiling in this area is a feature left over from Grant City.
This Kmart has recently turned 40 years old!
This is Kmart store number 7120 in Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania; it opened as a Kmart on September 9th, 1976. The store took over a former Grant City department store (W.T. Grant Company's larger discount store format). What makes this Kmart so unique is that it is the LAST Kmart store to have a full-service restaurant.

WEEK 41 – Wolfchase Sears Closing, Set IX (UL)
This one was *much* easier to place – we’re looking back down the actionway of the mattress department, with the very same checkout station we wrapped up looking at last time front and center. The mall entrance is out of view directly to my right from this vantage point.
I wonder if this checkout was one of the most popular – note how it has a very prominent “ALL SALES FINAL” sign, as well as that fancy queue-line impulse buy shelf!

I'm playing with CAF on the X-T3 and trying to find a setting that works for me most of the time (or at least some of the time). I may be closing in on it, but I need more practice.
