Whitebark pine is a keystone species, whose nuts feed bears, squirrels, and
birds of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Whitebark pine have been
devastated by beetle infestations exacerbated by warming temperatures and is
on the list of candidate species eligible for ESA protection.

The very unstable landscape at Shingle Street on the Suffolk coast, surprises every year by changing its shape as the sea and the shingle battle it out for supremacy.
Every few minutes, the face on the fountain changes. The lips purse, the eyes look down, and out comes this stream of water from the face's mouth. Soooo incredibly cool to watch!! After this, the face changes, and we get to see someone new on each 50' glass water fountain.

ODC - CHANGING SEASONS is the topic for Thursday 17th September 2020 - Fall is my favorite time of year!
Took this series of photos at sunset, early August 2012. The view over Ballinskelligs bay is obscured but the changing hue over time was a sight to behold!
While we are taking practical actions on 10-10-10, countries like
Bangladesh (which hardly emit any greenhouse gases) are facing
calamities right now. We just received an email from some 10-10-10
organizers there who report that it will be difficult to follow
through with their events (though they'll do their best) in the face
of severe floods now affecting the country. The AP is reporting that
tends of thousands of people are stranded after several days of
intense rains. This is one of the amazing photos that came in.

Quilted and appliqued changing mat that I made back in 2002 for my daughter. Used a book by Susie Lacombe for the blocks.
500+ people joined in Gothenburg despite the rain, and sang "more love,
less hatred, we want a good climate" the day before our national elections.

Greetings,
A group of youths, several climate change officers, nearby communities and
some very naughty but active children came together on 9/10/10 (10/10/10 is
a holy day for most Solomon Islanders) to do a little cleaning up of the
Mataniko River bank. We rid the site of garbage and we also plan to sow
flowers purely inorder to beautify the area. In addition, given that the
area is quite vast and will require much effort, a later date is set to
launch a huge clean-up action activity there.
The attached pictures illustrate the small but energetic and lively
individuals. Please keep in mind that unfortunately most Solomon Islanders
are camera shy, so including everybody in the pictures was quite a
challenge...:))
Cheers!

it was my great pleasure yesterday to meet up with Mr and Mrs wnywaterfallers, Joe and Alicia, and be able to show them a few waterfalls at Letchworth SP that they hadn't known about.
It was also interesting to see what had changed here at Silver Lake Outlet falls in 2 weeks.
For holly.skye' s project. I half-hate this, but trial-and-error is definitely a way to learn :p

Hectic day. My dog is terrified of thunder storms. He is four years old and gets worse every summer. Came home to many things destroyed in the kitchen. :(
On a lighter note....testimonial for *MC-1* :)

For earth week at John Bapst Memorial High School, Bangor ME, USA student
activists organized an action, over 100 teachers and student took time out
of their day to formed a giant 350 in front of the school and chanted 350.
We are joined by Bob Klotz Jr. 350.org state organizer and Ilze Petersons,
coordinator for the Eastern Maine Peace and Justice Center. This student
organized event was part of a larger climate change project were we had
speakers on vernal pools and local climate change evidence as well as a
brief talk about global climate change and the meaning of 350 at an all
school assembly, they also raised nearly $1000 for environmental education,
advocacy, and land preservation by supporting Maine Audubon.
Warm regards
Mathew Townsend.

I'm slowly festering away as each one of my friends move off to college. Of course I chose a school that works on a quarter system, so I'm stuck here for another 3 weeks all by my lonesome.

… and then something happens that you don’t expect, and perhaps start to believe in destiny, predetermined things, or simply to signal
… and maybe you think that what is needed is to consolidate, but in change, growth, along the new roads, with the understanding that about “streets” we’re always talking!
