The change in the weather and the permanence of stone and metal. The cupola and slate roof tiles caught my eye on this building that is part of St Peter's Episcopal Church in Morristown. The morning started out bright and sunny and the skies were changing as the day went on as clouds moved in.

i have been work on making some small changes this year. you can read about one small change here: : 1smallchangeblog.blogspot.com/2010/02/one-small-change-20.... we have made some in the past years like hang clothes out to dry when the light returns. the use of cloth napkins and buying things at thrift stores or consignment shops. this years small changes have been rags rather then paper towels and t-shirt squares rather then tissues. growing our own vegetables is another thing.

We are in the midth of the sixth mass extinction of plants and animals. Species are dying off faster than nature can even create them, and it's entirely the fault of humans living an overdeveloped unsustainable lifestyle. This world is a beautiful place, however a change is needed for the survival of all.

I haven't uploaded any pictures for a few days because life did one of those unexpected things it does sometimes. My friend Tracy died. She was 44 and had been battling breast cancer. I was convinced she'd win the fight and am still shocked that she's gone.
Today's pictures are dedicated to her.
This image seemed quite fitting - nature reminding us that things change.

I've always been used to the classic B&O CPL bracket signal standing tall in the woods behind this abandoned, crumbling Erie Railroad water tower. It'll take a while to get used to seeing a modern-day Safetran style signal cantilever in the background. This new signal protects westbounds entering the interlocking at Lambert in Barberton, Ohio.
