A group of young activists just launched Sunrise Marin, a youth-led community hub inviting people of all ages to fight climate change together.
Their first meeting took place on Monday, June 24th at the Fairfax Public Library, bringing together dozens of youth and adult supporters from across Marin County.
This meeting was led by students Zoe Vavrek, Lucy London and Sylvia Potovski, with the support of Erin Armstrong and others at Drake High School.
They presented the goals of the Sunrise Movement, which is mobilizing young people and their allies to stop the climate crisis and create millions of good-paying jobs in the process. They want make climate change an urgent priority across America and elect leaders who stand up for the wellbeing of all people.
The Green Change team was there to take photos and show our support for these young activists. We believe they are our best hope for uniting our diverse communities to take climate action before it’s too late. We thank them for leading the charge and growing our movement!

The 2022 EX-CHANGE celebrates 2021-22 projects from first year through PhD programs through an exhibition, designed by means+methods, led by Aviva Rubin (B.Arch ‘07) and Carolynn Karp, and catalog designed by Group Project, Jimmy Luu and Ryan Menefee (DC ’08, HNZ ’09). EX-CHANGE addresses three imminent challenges facing society: climate change, artificial intelligence, and social justice. These themes organize the work, along with the experiments inspired by a spirit of formal and technological innovation at the school.

On Friday 23rd, St. Julian's School Eco-Council (@ Carcavelos, Portugal)
held a whistle-blowing, poster-waving, chant-shouting march through school
campus to raise awareness about Moving Planet Day. Students from all years
joined us as we marched for a more sustainable world. The lesson learned we
will never forget: Reduce CO2 or Destruction will Ensue!
Thank you,
Miguel Costa Matos

today was a very sad and, at the same time, exciting day. it was my last day (at least full time) with plexus. i start a new position in atlanta on monday. this will bring a lot of changes in the coming months. i was very sad to leave my co-workers who have become friends (and family) over the past few years.
this was the going away cake they got me today. it's in the shape of the hurricane. "shawnami" is a nickname that started around the time of our trip to jamaica. they claimed that my voice low voice caused the tsunami in southern asia. "blew us off the internet" is a phrase we use a lot making fun of a past client.

There were 10 of us who signed into the Congressman's office (Adam Smith). We also delivered about 20 letters opposing Fast Track that Karen Moskowitz and I (350 Seattle members) had collected on Saturday at the Folk Life Festival.
