Found these old abandoned chains near my backyard. I wonder how old they are...

Day 71

Are my chains made of metal or imagination?

Texture by Ghostbones. Thank you!

Went to steward at Hailshams Photo Exhibition this morning then walked round Hailsham in the afternoon with Mandy

Went into the cattle market and saw the bars and chains as a pattern

"Tuff chicks 'GOT Maille'." - Style with attitude.

That was the thought that went blazing through my mind when I noticed this little beanie baby chick sitting on a shelf desperately in need of a little chainmaille accessories!

So I fit her with a gorgeous little chainmaille collar, made for a chick with attitude. I opened, wove & closed nearly 100 rings, one at at time, for this little number. Using all non tarnish, lightweight aluminum. I chose gold to match her natural complexion and orange to accent her beautiful bill. Is she not the HOTTEST chick you've ever laid eyes on?

Tuff Chick will arrive at your home securely tucked into a black organza and satin trim bag, and boxed for further protection. This chick travels first class, all the way.

The chainmaille can easily be removed for cleaning and the bill ring can be placed wherever YOU want it!

This listing is for the Tuff Chick only. Photo shoot props are fun but not included ;-)

★☆★☆★ Tuff Chick's bill ring is non piercing. No chicks were harmed in the making of this novelty item.

Some images that explore my darker side!

I am not sure where I am going with these three similar images. I caught sight of my shadow on the wall of my Mum's hallway and I was strangely attracted to the slightly spooky nature of it. I only had my compact camera with me and alas no tripod so I had to conceal the camera in my hand. It therefore wasn't possible to take the exact image I wanted but the glory is that the time has been recorded and I can return to the scene next week (sunshine permitting) to get something better. The 'dirt' on the image is not dust on my sensor but the texture on her wall! I therefore need a backdrop if I am to repeat the shot.

The chain is part of a cuckoo clock, I've left it in because I thought it added an edginess to the image.

The strange effect has been created because the door through which the sun was streaming is rippled and double glazed, hence the multiple shadows.

Making rain chains for Christmas. My Mom asked for rain chains (to be used instead of downspouts). So I got 109 ft of 8 guage copper ground wire and made them. Roughly the process is: strip wire, wind onto PVC mandrel (1 7/8 inner diameter / 2 1/4 outer diameter), mark the ridge-line with a sharpie, remove from mandrel and cut at mark line, flatten and clean up cut burrs, solder double-ring chain @ 52 links and 104 rings per 8.5 ft chain (there were 2 chains).

Wire was surplus from Skycraft Surplus (http://skycraftsurplus.com/) at I-4 and Fairbanks Ave. in Orlando

Hand chain block, in another name manual chain block, structured with gears, chain, two hooks, and other steel parts, is the most economic tool for labor-saving during your lifting work. It is also one of the most using hand tools. Different from the traditional chain block for lifting purposes only, TITANSUHE's hand chain blocks are specially designed for many applications. It can work either as a hoist to lift and downloads or be a part of a lashing system to fasten and security the loads during cargo movement or transport, or as a supporting device to hold the loads in building construction or auto repair, or as a rescue device when your car or truck drives off-road. We provide both triangle and round shape hand chain blocks with very good quality and competitive prices.

How To Use A Hand Chain Block

Step 1: Weigh or estimate the weights of the object that is to be moved and choose a rated chain hoist.Step 2: Attach your chain hoist to a support system. The support can be a movable gantry crane, a fixed bracket, or a monorail track.Step 3: Visual check the chain hoist to see if there is any damage or defect that may reduce the chain hoist safety.Step 4: Operate the chain hoist under no load to check if it can work properly.Step 5: Adjust the lifting chain to the appropriate length and attach the loads with the bottom hook.Step 6: Continue pulling the hand chain on the front side of the chain hoist to lift the load. Do not pull the hand chain at angles that may wear the chain and hoist cover.Step 7: Afterload reach desired location, change hand chain pulling direction to the other side to release the load. When the lifting chain gets loose, detach the loads from the hoist bottom hook.

Quality

Assurance Of Hand Chain BlockEach piece is proof tested with 1.5 times rated working load and gets its own certificate; All the chain blocks have minimum 4 times rated load breaking strength; Each model chain block has been typing tested and reaches 1500 life cycles as a minimum; For incoming material, we do Chemical Composition Analysis, dimensional check, strength check, and visual check; For key load-bearing parts, we check microstructure, strength, hardness, and elongation; For surface-treated parts, we do a salt spray test to check rust resistance.

I spotted this choke chain hanging on a fence and couldn't resist a few shots of it.

Model- Caleigh . Thanks.!

I found that chain in my basement and decided to throw it the mix of my photos . Love how it worked with these photos !
