Clarksville, CA, a ghost town near El Dorado Hills and Folsom. It is on private property and this was a private tour. It will be open to the public for the first time in May 2009 for Clarksville Day, a celebration of the history of the town. These were all taken for the Folsom Telegraph and the story and some of the pics will be used in print and online at folsomtelegraph.com.

Row 1: Satin stitch blocks in,some rayon? thread with chain in some metallic thread
Row 2: Satin stitch blocks in Au Ver a Soire Perle with two rows of chain stitched with two strands of Scanfill Metallic. This may have looked better if the satin stitch blocks were further apart and shorter.
Row 3 LHS Satin stitch blocks in Au Ver a Soire Perle with two rows of chain stitched with two strands of Scanfill Metallic and beaded.
Row 3 RHS Satin stitch blocks in Au Ver a Soire Perle with two rows of chain stitched with one strand of Scanfill Metallic and one strand of Au Ver a Soire Perle and finally beaded.
These beaded ones would have looked better if the satin stitch blocks were further apart.

An old piece of chain on an old tree I found while fishing the Androscoggin River. Each link was about 5" long. Possibly from logging many years ago?

The Széchenyi Chain Bridge is a suspension bridge that spans the River Danube between Buda and Pest, the western and eastern sides of Budapest, the capital of Hungary. Designed by the English engineer William Tierney Clark, it was the first permanent bridge across the Danube in Budapest, and was opened in 1849.
It is anchored on the Pest side of the river to Széchenyi (formerly Roosevelt) Square, adjacent to the Gresham Palace and the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, and on the Buda side to Adam Clark Square, near the Zero Kilometer Stone and the lower end of the Castle Hill Funicular, leading to Buda Castle
