Wow. Surreal trip to Trader Joe's tonight. Vast expanses of open shelves -- no fresh produce, no eggs, no milk, and absolutely no bread of any sort. The trucks couldn't get out of Chicago -- 24" of snow. Makes one realize how lucky we were in Madison that we didn't have a crippling snow fall on top of the extreme cold, which apparently pushed most of the precipitation south of us.
After cleaning and before waxing I dry my chains in the oven to be sure they are properly dry. A warm chain helps with wax penetration too.

My entry for DoA triathlons 1st challenge: a wig made of unusual materials. I use jewellery pieces and chains intertwined with silk ribbons to make a sort of Egyptian cyber goddess. LOL
The Chain bridge in Budapest was designed by William Tierney Clark, the same person as the chain bridge in Marlow (see below). This is the bridge viewed from the Buda side of the river, with our hotel somewhere in the background lights.

This was my contribution to the 2008 5 x 7 show for Arthouse in Austin, TX. Artists are invited to donate a work in a 5" x 7" format to benefit the art center. Each card is priced at $100 and sold anonymously (this piece has sold).
Meet Emma & Sophie, conjoined twins and keepers of time for the Soul Sucker...
They are 10" tall x 4 1/2" wide x 2 1/4" deep. The clock still works and is electric. They were hand sculpted from epoxy over an armature. Lots of vintage brass clock gears on their chest and sides. I also added lace to the top of their bodice and their wrists. Their hands hang from antiqued flattened brass chain. Brass pieces are in both of their eyes. Their hair is natural white mohair. I hand painted them in layers and sealed them with a matte finish. Emma and Sophie are a one of a kind collectible. They are titled, signed and dated. LRGB composite of the Markarian's chain in the Virgo cluster. This was shot from a bright sky lit by the full moon and the resulting gradients were a nightmare to remove. It would need a lot more light to properly show the wonderful tidal interactions going on with a few of the galaxies on the chain.
Total integration time L 2h (10min subs), RGB 3h/channel (20 min subs).

The Stroll Through Magnolia is pretty much like a preview of the Texas Renaissance Festival which starts in the very near future. It was a pleasant evening, we dodged some impressive thunderstorms, and had a chance to shoot some old favorites and new people. We are so looking forward to the start of the TRF!
