The largest surviving chained library in the world is at Hereford Cathedral in the UK, where all the books are still kept under lock and key in their original chains. It has been rebuilt in its original arrangement, exactly as it had been from 1611 to 1841.

Medieval books were very expensive and the chain allowed them to be read but not removed.

The first time you get a belly chain around your waist is a very special feeling.

The first thing you notice is how extremely restrictive it is. Picking something up, adjusting the jumpsuit snaps, even walking in the already pretty restrictive leg irons -- it all becomes way more difficult. There is no way anyone would be able to hurt somebody wearing this, let alone escape. Once the chains go on, you're completely in the control of the CO's.

The fact that a scrawny guy like me has to be put in such heavy restraints "for everyone's safety" is just surrea. I'm in deep trouble this time...

Have a great Wednesday, my friends!

I can see wilderness in her which was restricted by our modern world and society...

6-7/7-8 black flowers, black handmade antlers, and beaded chain details.

Using my Nikkor 35mm prime I captured this chain which is used to tie boats to on Shaldon beach although this one has nothing on it and it looked like it had been this was for sometime.

Although not visible without zooming in, I bought this pair of pumps because I liked the small chains that are hanging around the heels.

Taken at Spring Grove Cemetery and Arboretum in Cincinnati, Ohio.

It seems like a lot of fencing. But, I wouldn't want to be hit by a baseball! HFF, Flickr friends!

We are speaking of love. A leaf, a handful of seed--begin with these, learn a little what it is to love. First, a leaf, a fall of rain, then someone to receive what a leaf has taught you, what a fall of rain has ripened. No easy process, understand; it could take a lifetime, it has mine, and still I've never mastered it--I only know how true it is: that love is a chain of love, as nature is a chain of life."

An abandoned cotton spinning mill somewhere in Wales. Abandoned for some time, not sure on the history behind it. Visited with Wiffsmiff23. Ended up doing some obscure macro work as part of the visit too.
