Stressful day today, one of our horses we have at the Ranch decided to go for a ride on her own. We looked for her everywhere and managed to find her hidden in the mountains ! It was a long road back to the Ranch but we made it safe and sound.

A polar bear on the shore of Hudson Bay catches a few snowflakes on its black tongue. The tongue and the skin of polar bears is black, which helps them absorb UV light travelling down their translucent hairs. They only appear white because their fur reflects visible light. Of interest, polar bear cubs are born with pink tongues that gradually turn back over a few months.

The Metro Hotel Dublin Airport catches the last of the day's sunshine. Note an aircraft ascending from Dublin Airport to the left of the giant Poolbeg chimneys.

Herring Gull catching bread that was being thrown in the air by people here who like to feed the gulls. Makes good practice for flight shots.
Out on a photo trip in southeast Kansas and I came across this interesting composition. I like how there are many details to get immersed in. Let me know what you think.

My eldest son hiding behind some logs after a long walk in the park. We were at Coney Island and I saw this perfect spot. I knew I had to take a shot and there, my son fitting into the frame perfectly.
Leaves of an American Beech (Fagus grandifolia) backlit against the afternoon sun. Beech leaves are notable for lingering on the tree through the winter months, thereby producing autumn colors into early spring.
