is anyone interested in the how, why etc about a picture? I don't think, so it is what it is.

The View from my Bedroom Window, Aventura, FL

I saw this rainbow looking outside the bedroom window earlier this evening and though I take a quick shot. And in case you are wondering I haven't given up on shooting landscapes although with all the bird shots I have been posting lately one could think so. ;-)

But now as birding season is coming to an end for the summer I hope to get back into the swing of things.

I actually went for a little walk hoping to catch the rainbow with some more scenic foreground, but no such luck.

Killarney National Park

I had intended going for a short walk yesterday to have a look at a new bridge that has been built over the freeway, however as some shots that will be posted later in the week will show I ended up doing a 16km round trip and got some great shots.

Messing about with Apophysis and layers!

If Leo got on his tiptoes and leaned out the window, he could see the mountains from his second story hotel room. Leo didn't look too often. He had to pick himself up off the ground several times and he's convinced the view isn't worth the fall.

This loon had a lot of success fishing for crayfish here. I watched him for a while repeatedly dive and come back up with food...usually with his back to me!

Stressful day today, one of our horses we have at the Ranch decided to go for a ride on her own. We looked for her everywhere and managed to find her hidden in the mountains ! It was a long road back to the Ranch but we made it safe and sound.

A polar bear on the shore of Hudson Bay catches a few snowflakes on its black tongue. The tongue and the skin of polar bears is black, which helps them absorb UV light travelling down their translucent hairs. They only appear white because their fur reflects visible light. Of interest, polar bear cubs are born with pink tongues that gradually turn back over a few months.
