I don't know if this fisherman was successful in his quest to catch the "big one," but the time of day was just right for catching reflections.
In order to capture scenes like this I got up at 5am on half of the days I spent in Val D'Orcia. Not something that most would consider a relaxing vacation, but sometimes you have to set priorities ;-)
Um Bilder wie dieses zu machen bin ich die Hälfte meiner Urlaubstage im Val D'Orcia morgens um 5 Uhr aufgestanden. Nicht gerade das was die meisten als Erholung bezeichnen würden, aber manchmal muß man einfach Prioritäten setzen ;-)

who cares if I'm in a zoo cage or free . . .
matters not to many but it does to me
I'd love to be in the forests it's true
but I'm stuck in here as if with glue
oh to fly free to be a bird on the wing
and then perhaps . . once again I'd sing !

Male Northern Cardinals such as this guy are easy to spot amongst the winter browns, especially when they pause for a moment in the sunlight.

No surfers out this morning at Ocean Beach, but there were a few photographers catching the 10-13 ft waves… :)

Some shots from the East coast of Fife yesterday. The winter sun just caught this Herring Gull at the right angle.
With stealth movement of those long legs and a very sharp beak it can be easy to strike and catch your prized lunch.
Pushing on that trigger is like pulling magic into my very soul...Darrell.

Driving home, (a passenger, this time) I hung out of the car window to catch the light through this tree.
There had been torrential rain and 50mph winds for most of the day, then, the sun made a very brief appearance.
