A scene from the shore of Llyn Cynwch near Dolgellau, Gwynedd, Wales, with the hill of Foel Cynwch beyond.

A scarlet honey eater in Kondalilla National Park, Queensland

Looking over the reeded edges of the Ynys Eidiol pool at the RSPB Ynys-hir nature reserve to the Tarennau hills in the distance.

I couldn't help doing this one of my new Grandson.

This is from early October when some autumn colour was starting to appear in a woodland near Dolgellau, Wales.

May I take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy and peaceful Christmas.

Some Scots pine at the RSPB Ynys-hir nature reserve near Machynlleth, Wales, this beautiful species is the only truly native pine in the UK.

One from early last month, some autumn leaves on slate bedrock in the Afon Dulas* at Aberllefenni north of Machynleth.

*Dulas meaning black stream/river. There is another river by the same name flowing down from the uplands south of Machynlleth into the Afon Dyfi.

A beleza está nos detalhes que não gritam, mas sussurram.

Fotografado em Aracaju, este céu dramático capturado em preto e branco revela a poesia silenciosa da natureza.

A escolha do monocromático não é ausência de cor, é presença de intenção.

Not an official name just my title, I think that the tree on the little island looks like the head of a dragon with open mouth.

Another image taken looking across Llyn Cregennen with a brief glimmer of light on an otherwise dull and misty afternoon. On the right the slopes rise to the Cadair Idris ridge with the summit in cloud.

Beautiful mosses in this gorge woodland on the early section of the walk up Cadair Idris on the Minffordd path. This relict Oak woodland is part of what's known as the Celtic Rainforest.

Unfortunately forgot my glasses on this afternoon and was unable to manually focus so had to use auto focus and hope for the best.

I've been having lots of problems with Flickr lately, unable to open and fave images so there's a lot of catching up to do if this behaves for a while, it's very frustrating, had problems even uploading this image.

Was given a new toy for my birthday.

Late afternoon, looking out from the shade of Oak trees exposed to the elements here on Marian Mawr at the RSPB Ynys-hir nature reserve near Machynlleth in mid Wales. Below are the pools and Saltings hide with the saltmarsh and Dyfi Estuary beyond.

Another view looking up towards Cyfrwy with the banded cliff face of Cadair Idris further to the left. The very eroded path known as Llwybr Madyn or more commonly as Foxes Path is to the left of the summit.

Late afternoon last week looking south west towards the western end of the Cadair Idris ridge, Braich Ddu on the left with the shapely ridge line of Pared y Cefn-hir on the right.

A massive Channel Clinging Crab (Mithrax spinosissimus) that I hand caught, right after I set it free. They are pretty good to eat, but I don’t find it worth taking their life for so little food.

They have super unique claws, and biologists are still unsure of what they eat.

I had accidentally made this photo private, along with a group of others a while back, while making myself a screensaver album for my tv, so it wiped a lot of things out, and removed it from Explore.

This is a 1 pixel width crop, resized, of the previous image. I did one one of these of a sunset a few years ago from the same location. Follow this link if you want to see it.

Taken in the shadows close to sunset at the Marian Mawr hide (seen in the previous image) at the RSPB Ynys-hir reserve. Looking west towards one of the lakes with the Saltings hide visible on it's edge, beyond is part of the Dyfi saltmarsh and estuary before the headland where located at it's tip is the coastal village of Aberdyfi but not visible in this image.

Taken from the hillside below Foel Ispri last spring looking down on the Mawddach Estuary in beautiful hazy evening light.

The path that runs along the Saltings embankment at the RSPB Ynys-hir nature reserve near Machynlleth, this was taken just outside the Saltings hide. Hidden on the other side of the embankment on the left is the Dyfi Estuary with the Tarennau mountains in the distance.
