One cannot go beyond what one has not yet attained, and normally the realization that God is “beyond images, symbols, and ideas” dawns only on one who has previously made a good use of all these things, . . . and having reached the limit of symbol and idea goes on to a further stage in which he does without them, at least temporarily.

My Nominees: Anyone that is reading this right now and wants to do it.

I cannot sleep, I cannot dream tonight

I need somebody and always

This sick, strange darkness

Comes creeping on so haunting everytime

And as I stared I counted the webs from all the spiders

Catching things and eating their insides

Like indecision to call you and hear your voice of treason

Will you come home and stop this pain tonight?

Stop this pain tonight"

Self-portrait

After a few chilly hours, you get some where cozy and warming, we have all, i think, been here, and you could quite easily drift off into sleep, our mind becomes like a bird in flight, drifting and soaring........... into our imagination and Zzzzzzz.

For those of you who cannot see the bird, i have hi-lighted it, run you cursor over the image, thank you for looking.

I cannot remember if I took this picture in Boise, ID or Helena, MT. It was a sunny day and the trees were reflecting on the facade of the church. I thought it would look cool to edit it in a gothic style so I choose a deep sepia.

Cannot identify the bird type. It was found in the floor in the Dragon Fruit Plantation area. Hope they will have time enough to procriate and fly away.

Oxalá consigam procriar e voar a tempo!

The We’re Here! gang is considering things we cannot do today!

Although we already had feeders of seed out and a holder of fat-balls, I took pity today on the pair of robins who frequent our garden.

I crumbled up a fat-ball and put it on the patio table. This little robin soon came but spent quite a few minutes just standing and looking about before he dared to start eating.

I cannot always ‘Thank’ everyone individually, for their Visits and ‘Faves’ however, I will always try to respond and thank all those that leave a ‘Comment’. If I do not reply to your 'Comment', it is not because I am ignoring you, it's because I have not seen the 'Comment'.

Your 'Comments' do not always appear in 'Notifications' or Flickr mail, so, I am sorry for any delay in responding. Often your 'Comment' is only spotted 'On the Page' on the day, that I see it. (seen ONLY when replying to someone HAS 'Commented' on the image, and I see a notification)

Post sunset look to the north from Desert View in Grand Canyon National Park, towards Comanche Point and the Palisades of the Desert. This is the only time during a nine day trip that we had any clouds in the sky, and they were pretty far off. Earth's shadow is visible as the dark blue band below the pink (the belt of Venus).

You cannot walk among the stones, as in the old days.... But this also makes for better atmospheric photos, as well as protecting the stones themselves.

I was there in 1977, with my family..... This is a better arrangement by far !

from Wikipedia

"Stonehenge is a prehistoric monument located in Wiltshire, England, about 2 miles (3 km) west of Amesbury and 8 miles (13 km) north of Salisbury. One of the most famous sites in the world, Stonehenge is the remains of a ring of standing stones set within earthworks. It is in the middle of the most dense complex of Neolithic and Bronze Age monuments in England, including several hundred burial mounds.

Archaeologists believe it was built anywhere from 3000 BC to 2000 BC. Radiocarbon dating in 2008 suggested that the first stones were raised between 2400 and 2200 BC,whilst another theory suggests that bluestones may have been raised at the site as early as 3000 BC.

The surrounding circular earth bank and ditch, which constitute the earliest phase of the monument, have been dated to about 3100 BC. The site and its surroundings were added to the UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites in 1986 in a co-listing with Avebury Henge. It is a national legally protected Scheduled Ancient Monument. Stonehenge is owned by the Crown and managed by English Heritage, while the surrounding land is owned by the National Trust

Archaeological evidence found by the Stonehenge Riverside Project in 2008 indicates that Stonehenge could have been a burial ground from its earliest beginnings. The dating of cremated remains found on the site indicate that deposits contain human bone from as early as 3000 BC, when the ditch and bank were first dug. Such deposits continued at Stonehenge for at least another 500 years."

Wondrous waves of earth, frozen in their flow,

teaching us of time passed long, long ago.

We have the most beautiful Sea Holly in our front garden and the bees and hoverflies love it. Only thing is this variety, Eryngium Planum, does not smell particularly pleasant! I want to get rid of it but it is so beautiful and I just cannot dig it up. So the neighbours and passers by will just have to put up with the smell!

Cannot believe it is mid July and I am looking out on to near monsoon conditions. Not been a good week here weather wise in Cornwall. Here is a shot of Trebarwith Strand where I was able to include the setting sun. So lucky to have this location just down the road which has so many possibilities. Oh well, light the fire settle down and watch The Open Golf Championship. Thank you for looking, and I Really appreciate your comments.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness only light can.

Hate cannot drive out hate;

only love can to that

"I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that"

A very long time ago, my great-aunt Bea explained to me who the people were in these old family photographs dating from mid-19th century. Unfortunaltely, no one noted their names or dates. Who were they? I cannot recall.....

I cannot remember exactly where in the Gaspesie National Park this was. I remember it was very beautiful though. And cold. It was very cold on this trip.

I was geeking out on occasion on this trip. I had just bought some neutral density filters and was playing around with them.

I played in the leaves today. It is insane how many there were. Even more on the other side of the house. x.x But it was fun. Today it was nice and foggy too...which i love! I finally went out and took some pictures (other then this. hehe) It wasn't freakishly cold today like it has been. It was just misting a little bit.

I'll upload more pictures from today..tonight or tomorrow...depends.

I cannot see much of the tracks from my current vantage point, but I can see just enough to catch the two P42DCs and baggage car as the California Zephyr makes its way west just west of the CO-72 overpass at the base of Coal Creek Canyon.

No, life cannot be understood flat on a page. It has to be lived; a person has to get out of his head, has to fall in love, has to memorize poems, has to jump off bridges into rivers, has to stand in an empty desert and whisper sonnets under his breath... We get one story, you and I, and one story alone. God has established the elements, the setting and the climax and resolution. It would be a crime not to venture out, wouldn't it?
