One cannot imagine Walt Whitman stopping by cold woods or Robert Frost frolicking amid laughing flesh.7 Each has in his own way thickened the meaning he found in the reality of stopping at day's end and then incremented that meaning with such exquisite style that everyone else is stunned by the reality being revealed with sharp precision, seduced into transacting more deeply with the real. Thickening meaning and then incrementing that meaning with style is no easy task, and it does not happen by accident. It is a knowledgeable accomplishment of the highest order, moreso even than what goes on in laboratories, banks, and institutions of what is called higher learning. Writing a sonnet is at least as hard as figuring compound interest or teaching a course, which is why so few even attempt it.

Cannot remember the last time I did street photography, so this morning I thought i would give it another go during my permitted exercise which (following the current rules) was done alone and within my local area.

I ran across this photo I took of a vacant house on Maine Street here in Brunswick, Maine. It was February and the dirt that gets mixed with the snow and the condition of the structure are very grungy and I added a slight amount of grunge texture to the sky. A year or so later several male students from Bowdoin College just up the road spent time making it livable and it was occupied until last year when because of the pandemic most students returned to their homes. It has since been declared unfit for habitation by the town.

I cannot be more excited to share this photo which to me represents a dream come true. For so long I have wanted to take a picture of the stunningly photogenic Table Mountain in South Africa. Finally, during my last trip there in April, I was able to do it. On the night the sunset wasn't very dramatic. There were almost no clouds which meant a less dramatic sky. Luckily Table Mountain is photogenic enough on its own :)
Table mountain is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Cape Town is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. If you haven't been there yet, what is stopping you?
With no confliction I summon the dark ones 👿
I DEMAND you with vengeance - Come to me you fucking demons and beasts…. I am not afraid, you cannot hurt me, you cannot break what is already broken! I am ready, eagerly here waiting for your arrival, bowing gracefully in your presence welcoming and greeting you with open arms honoring my commitment, offering myself freely without resistance so do as you must - UNRESTRAINED
Torment my disdain soul, taunt my spirit and demented mind as I am a sinner for I could not protect nor save him.... Thirstily torture me with lustful sadistic desires – Suspend me with chains and hooks through my skull, ears, eyes, nose, cheeks and dermis...
Lacerate, stab, beat, choke, bite, scratch, pick, gouge, lash, feed off and burn blistering my organic flesh leaving only bone as the flaming lipids drip quenching Gaîa as I deserve it then dribble toxic corrosive cocktails from your mouth into my open wounds off your tongue…. Watch me in delight as I wallow in my hallucinations, delusions, distortions, noise, insanity and numbness contemplating while drowning in my failures…. I can take it, I will OWN it, you will not see me quiver nor flinch.... I will unconditionally beseech for more each and every time you swipe inflicting on me OVER and OVER and OVER again
Swipe taking your best shots with full force and no holding back as I will come searching for, hunting you in the dark whispers of a celestial night standing in the shadows at the very gates of hell where I announce my presence with wailing GRROWWLLLZ while making my way through the labyrinth crawling on my bleeding cursed hands and knees dragging my persecuted feet in shame to the depths of your lair where time stands still for eternity unleashing my wrath.... Pinning you down into the deep gritty earth of consumed souls with my foot as I tare your fucking tail off with my bare hands shoving it down your throat feeding it to you whole, allowing you to breathe solely through your nostrils while taking in overwhelming contentment watching you wide eyed with dilated pupils as you gag, splatter and choke…. Slowly peeling the scales off your body one by one with my fingernails watching in amusement as they weep.... Using your horns as reins while chewing through your thoracic anatomy with clotted blood dribbling down my face, neck and all over my torso as my GRROWWLLLZ echo off the chamber walls and throughout the labyrinth while looking deep into your soul through the window of your besieged eyes begging me for redemption as I drink in sacrifice warm foaming blood with every last heartbeat from your squirting aorta punishing you for all my failures and sins if you fail your calling and duty
Revive me each time when I fade to die as there is no glory in death without a journey full of suffering and pain, I seek retribution and wish to have consciousness while relishing in your inflictions 🔪🔪🔪 upon me

If you knew that you would die today
If you saw the face of God and Love
Would you change?
If you knew that love can break your heart
When you're down so low you cannot fall
Would you change?
How bad how good does it need to get?
How many losses how much regret?
What chain reaction
What cause and effect
Makes you turn around
Makes you try to explain
Makes you forgive and forget
Makes you change
If you knew that you would be alone
Knowing right being wrong
Would you change?
If you knew that you would find a truth
That brings a pain that can't be soothed
Would you change?
Are you so upright you can't be bent
if it comes to blows
Are you so sure you won't be crawling
If not for the good why risk falling
Why risk falling
If everything you think you know
Makes your life unbearable
Would you change?
If you'd broken every rule and vow
And hard times come to bring you down
Would you change?

Forget to post this one last week during the arena/night time series. Saw all these cars coming around the corner and thought it was a great chance to get some light trails!
Thanks for stopping by my friends, and enjoy your day!
I don't mind invitations, but please no big, shiny, flashing, glitter graphics, they will be deleted. Thanks!

It's been 2 months since I lost my younger sister...suddenly. My mind still cannot comprehend what has happened, and words fail me. We are still waiting to get some answers from CDC. I'm just trying to stay strong for the family and I try to keep to our routines...I'm slowly starting to go out again and even picked up my camera. It's beautiful out there right now...I guess life really does keep going, no matter what.
My Monday flower greeting today not only comes quite late (sorry, I had something urgent to do) but also in a very unusual form. Nothing is blooming here at the moment.
But anyone who has ever seen the flowers of the houseleek knows that they look really impressive and beautiful.
Which brings us to my ulterior motive for this photo.
Very often we meet people whose real potential is not apparent at first glance (perhaps not at second either). Just like this flower in hibernation.
Then we are often quick to judge and put this person in a box that suits us.
I would like to invite you to wait (not just this week) before making such judgments for a while (if you cannot avoid them completely). Be curious about what is still hidden at the moment. I can say from my own experience as a coach that you sometimes make fascinating discoveries when you are there when the sleeping beauty in your counterpart opens her eyes.
And who knows, maybe you will discover and awaken the sleeping beauty within yourself. Because the thing with quick judgments and boxes works even better internally than externally.

This tiny rover is built around the idea, if it's possible to stick the wheels directly to the bracket thingy (bricklink is down for maintenance, so I cannot look the part number up) - yes, it works with a short pin-with-stud.
The rest is just "keep it small" and the speed effect is simple rain.

The Protestant Church of St. Katharinen, which dates back to the 13th century, with its 115 meter high tower cannot be overlooked when you are traveling in the Hafencity in Hamburg.
It is considered the oldest upright building in Hamburg that is still in use.
Due to its proximity to the harbor, it is considered the sailors' church. That is why she also bears the name of Saint Catherine of Alexandria, the patron saint of sailors and merchants.
Since Hamburg was one of Europe's centers for trade and shipping at the time, this makes perfect sense.
Further to the left in the background you can see the church of St. Nikolai, which was destroyed in the Second World War and of which only the tower remains today as a memorial.

Almighty God's words "Corrupt Man Cannot Represent God"
www.holyspiritspeaks.org/videos/word-corrupt-man-cannot-r...
Introduction
Almighty God says, "All the actions and deeds of Satan are shown through man. Now all the actions and deeds of man are an expression of Satan and hence cannot represent God. Man is the embodiment of Satan, and the disposition of man does not represent the disposition of God. Some men are of a good character; God may do some work through it and their work is governed by the Holy Spirit, yet their disposition cannot represent God."

2 Samuel 14:14 “All of us must die eventually. Our lives are like water spilled out on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again. But God does not just sweep life away; instead, he devises ways to bring us back when we have been separated from him.”
"You cannot pass," he said. The orcs stood still, and a dead silence fell.
— J.R.R. Tolkien (The Fellowship of the Ring)
You never know what you are going to see on fences, once you start looking. This fence is just a mile or so down my road. Yesterday, I saw three of these vultures walking about on one of my neighbor's roofs. Creepy.

I cannot remember many times in my life where I have felt so utterly weak, broken, and destroyed. I am weary beyond what I knew I could be. This process is painful and I don’t know why it has to be this way, but it is not always for me to know the why in the moment. Suffering is hard to understand and it often makes little sense to us. To me right now this doesn’t all make all that much sense, it just hurts a lot. But I chose to still trust in God knowing that He is faithful and good! O Lord would you keep me humble and dependent on You. Keep my soul and preserve my life, for my soul feels faint and my bones feel weary. My body feels like it is wasting away and my soul feels like it cannot push through anymore; yet, I will still chose to put my hope in God. For where else would I go, for You O Lord have the words of eternal life and it is in Your arms that I take refuge!

Silence is therefore important even in the life of faith and in our deepest encounter with God. We cannot always be talking, praying in words or keeping up a kind of devout background music. Much of our well-meant interior religious dialogue is, in fact, a smoke screen and an evasion. Much of it is simply self-reassurance and in the end is little better than self-justification. Instead of really meeting God in the nakedness of faith in which our inmost being is laid bare before Him, we act out an inner ritual that has not function but to allay anxiety.

"...I cannot get to my love…The water of Tyne runs between him and me, And here I must stand with the tear in my eye…”
This are the lyrics of an old traditional song and maybe one reason for the existance so many bridges nowdays on the River Tyne, the most of them linking the city of Newcastle upon Tyne with the town of Gateshead. Two of them are worth to be mentioned. The Tyne Bridge is the biggest one and it is a through arch bridge, opened in 1928 and has since become a defining symbol of Tyneside. The bridge is painted green and spans 162 m and the road deck is 26 m above the river level. The Gateshead Millennium Bridge is an award-winning pedestrian tilt bridge and it is sometimes referred to as the 'Blinking Eye Bridge' due to its shape and its tilting method.

Holy Island, or Lindisfarne as it's also known, is one of the most beautiful places anywhere in the world and simply oozes history wherever you wander. It's importance to Christianity cannot be understated with its 7th century monastery serving as a home to St Cuthbert and also drawing the first significant Viking attack on Western Europe in 793. This pano (processed in glorious HDR once again!) depicts the much more modern Lindifarne Castle which was built in the 16th century before being altered and restored in 1901. More photos to follow!

With his camouflage, spotted pattern, and a body and muscular evolved for ambush, if you happen to be prey, most often you don't even know who has been watching you before it's all too late.
This Leopard we only spotted thanks to a few other vehicles before us having seen him climb up the tree and resting down for the day. Even though, it took a bit of pointing out and searching with Binos, before we could make him out between all the branches and leaves.
We were fortunate, in that he kept moving around a little to find a more comfortable spot, so I managed a small series of good spots - it was a tough decision of which of these I'd like to display on Flickr and in the end decided on 2 :)
Seeing Leopards is always special. Never taken for granted, and always in the full knowledge of the presence of a Predator that would have no qualms in shelving us in their prey repertoire, given the chance. I don't think I have any such rush of emotions when watching a Lion Pride, or a Cheetah family... purely irrational, and purely emotional and I cannot explain it, but there it is.
I cannot resist my cookie Jars, and my skeletal leaf has still not fallen to bits-just gathered some dust and a little bit of cotton that i only noticed after i finished processing the shots..
Looking like a macro but taken with the Pentacon 50mm 1.8 Lens mounted on a Nikon D850 using a PK11A 8mm Extension tube plus the very thin type M42 adapter.
Many vintage lenses extend into a full frame camera body with the risk of hitting the mirror.
Crop sensor Nikon DSLRs the mirror is set further back...
Hand held and practically sooc
I cannot tell you how thrilled I was with these results.

Cannot beat a cliche summer beach shot - these ones have vivid coloured doors and line up beautifully. The Shadows created tell the story of an early arrival on a quiet beach front.
Turn out the lights, let's be still for a while / Let the wind blow in with the rain / The changing of seasons, the tangle of sheets / And the heat pipes have broken again / And I watch you watching the headlights you are lost in / A country I cannot find / They pass on the ceiling, a strobe in slow motion / Alive in the cracks of the blinds (Anna Tivel)
