MLC Centre architecture cannot be overlooked. With elegantly contoured, stark white concrete, white quartz and glass, the façade presents itself as a handsomely moulded sculpture.
Harry Seidler AC QBE is a luminary of Australian architecture. Widely considered as the first architect to fully express the Bauhaus aesthetic here. The MLC Centre remains one of his most definitive works on the Sydney Skyline.
244m to antenna and 227m to roof. The MLC Centre was Sydney’s tallest building in Sydney from 1977 to 1992. It is currently the fifth tallest building behind the Meriton World Tower (230m), Deutsche Bank Place (240m), Citigroup Centre (243m) and Chifley Tower (244m). The tallest structure in Sydney is still the Sydney Tower at 309m.
I cannot imagine liking any of my photographic subjects the rest of this year more than this one. It was love at first sight!

Cannot go through each step again...used as base photo the one posted 5 spots prior to this. Then used vivid effect, then Adobe photoshop beta cosmos 12 effect. Finished by lightening a little bit.
We cannot escape the terrible atrocities that are happening in Ukraine at the moment and feel the pain of suffering with the people.
This is my way of declaring my solidarity and support for them in their fight for freedom.
I took a photo of mine and gave it a painterly feel to bring new life.
You cannot go to the Yorkshire Dales and not capture at least one of the many wonderful waterfalls. I love this place. I would move there tomorrow if it was possible.
Most plants cannot live in saltwater, since the water drowns their roots and the salt poisons their systems. Seaweed, however, is not a true plant and does not use systems that can be waterlogged. It has thick, rubbery stems that protect it from the corrosive ocean water, and uses simplified versions of roots and leaves to hold it in place and absorb sunlight. More complicated types of seaweed even have specialized bladders that allow it to float.
What is this life that pulls me far away
What is that home where we cannot reside
What is that quest that pulls me onward
My heart is full when you are by my side

The first, brilliant little Snow Drops (Galanthus) to bloom in the gardens this Winter. Every point of light adds up!
I cannot imagine that I will ever be blessed with a better opportunity/encounter with Bighorn Sheep as I was the morning of 20 May, 2023.
It was shortly after sunrise as I rounded a bend in Custer State Park when I noticed 6-7 Bighorn Sheep to my left getting ready to cross the road. I stopped the car immediately in the middle of the road and turned on my emergency flashers (In my world this is an emergency!) and prayed they would not scamper back in the direction they had traveled.
I was apparently the only one in the area as they “sheepishly” crossed the road in a near robotic, high alert fashion. One in particular then assumed the role of protector as the others moved into the rocks, he stood in the middle of the road, twice bowing his head to expose the large, flat portion of his horns. I believe in his world; this was the equivalent of pulling your jacket aside to show that you have a gun!
Once the guardian cleared the road, I got out of my car with great hope of just getting one good shot. Little did I know that they wound go down into a small ravine, disappear for a few moments and reappear on a beautifully, naturally landscaped rocky area…in perfect light. It was there that they seemed to instantly relax and start grazing about, always keeping one eye on me.
For about 20 minutes of so I stood alone in the road, my right hand shaking due to weakness from a shoulder replacement, my left shaking from excitement! I was amazed to find that any of my shots were in focus. So blessed by the encounter, so close that I could observe the flexibility of their ankles and hooves as they slowly started climbing the rocks.
I look at these photos now and thank God for the blessing, and for the continued hope that it will take for me to continue to roll out of bed at 4:20 in the morning!
Cannot remember the last time we had rain in our neck of the woods , everything is dry and dusty and the Hay fever is driving me crazy too.
Stores cannot sell alcoholic beverages between 21:00 and 09:00 in Finland, so the ones that stay open 24/7 lock the beer shelves away for the night.

Stray cats represent the spirit of resilience and independence, surviving and thriving in even the harshest environments. Their lives may seem intimidating, but they find joy in the smallest of things, a lesson for us humans.

I know a lot of people that find fall a depressing time of year.
I love the beautiful fall colors, and I don't mind the cooler, crisper temperatures. It's all pretty wonderful until we switch to Eastern Standard Time.
Being dark at 4:30p.m. is what depresses me!!
I cannot spot one of these fascinating insects without feeling the need of capturing it !
I loved how I managed a clean background on this picture, making the beautiful Moth stand out so well.
Unedited picture.
the love I have for this horse. Or my other two, Donovan and Cav for that matter.
Pete's (this one) the one I ride most now because he is just a very mellow horse and he's only 13.2 hands, which just puts me a little closer to the ground, just in case . . .
And all my dogs of course, can't leave them out. My constant companions. 8 eyeballs following my every move, all day, every day, LOL

I cannot exist in the world without you in it, she said. I could never go back to that. I know too much to ever go back. I have felt too much to ever go back to that. Once you have felt whole how can you go back to being hollow? It would be like slowly dying. I think that is what happens to old married couples who have been in love and together for so long, when one dies and the other, seemingly healthy, follows shortly thereafter. Death by hollowness.

Happy Whispery White Bokeh Wednesday!

Cars cannot get any closer to the center of Chefchaouen than this. This Renault 5 was the closest competitor to the car I was driving for nine years, the Peugeot 205.
I cannot recall such a superb display of May blossom as we've had this year.
I can confidently cast a clout or two now!
For those with an interest in our sayings:
Playing with long exposures this morning... at this point it was still very dark out, though this LE makes it look otherwise. Happy Friday... let's hear it for the weekend!
Cannot remember where this was taken but thought it was worth having a play...the things you find at random!!
Just cannot beat a sunset on the west of Scotland. Looking over the island of Wee Cumbrae on the Firth of Clyde.
I cannot understand why architects choose this brutal form of architecture when it comes to buildings for people who are sick and in need of help and protection. Brutalism in this context is truly dehumanizing, frightening, and only shows the patient how small and insignificant they are in this context. Accordingly, the employees of this institution also behave. It's so sad
You cannot hold on to anything good. You must be continually giving - and getting. You cannot hold on to your seed. You must sow it - and reap anew. You cannot hold on to riches. You must use them and get other riches in return. Robert Collier

Cannot find the same shaped Clouds in any images of 'Cloud types' on the Internet - Nearest match is Altocumulus Clouds. If you know better, please let me know.
Thank you for your kind comments and visits they are much appreciated.
I cannot always ‘Thank’ everyone individually, however, I will still try to respond and thank all those that leave a ‘Comment’.
I cannot believe Stetson is now 8 months old. Whew, we have survived puppy stage! Even though he is a teenager now, he is so well behaved, smart and sweet. He is enjoying a very interesting sunrise up at Big Beal Lake. I had to run and get my phone to capture these brilliant colors for so early in the morning.
Cannot resist a good sunset, especially when there is some cloud cover to spread and distort the light.
“Silence stands outside the world of profit and utility; it cannot be exploited for profit; you cannot get anything out of it. It is ‘unproductive’ Therefore it is regarded as valueless. Yet there is more help and healing in silence than in all the 'useful things.’ Purposeless, unexplainable silence suddenly appears at the side of the all-too-purposeful, and frightens us by its very purposelessness. It interferes with the regular flow of the purposeful. It strengthens the untouchable, it lessens the damage inflicted by exploitation. It makes things whole again, by taking them back from the world of dissipation into the world of wholeness. It gives something its own holy uselessness, for that is what silence itself is: holy uselessness.” (Max Picard)
“You cannot perceive beauty, but with a serene mind.” —Henry David Thoreau
Being centered doesn’t just allow you to feel more confident in yourself—it also lets you see the beauty of the world around you. And really, what can be more wonderful than that? Rainbows are just one example of the natural beauty that can be found in life.
