I love books. I've read so many that it's almost impossible to pick just one favourite, but for today I've chosen a novel I recently read and absolutely loved, called "All the Light We Cannot See" by Anthony Doerr. It's an achingly beautiful historical tale set in France and Germany during WWII, and won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 2015.

Especially as tomorrow I start a 4 week course of meds where I cannot sit in the sun. How rubbish is that?

We cannot dilly dally anymore, we are ruining our environment through our out of control garbage/rubbish.

I have used in the top center a photo of a sculpture I did for an exhibition done in collaboration with the Moving Ethos Modern Dancer Company called Purity & Pollution. It was floating in the pool during the exhibition. It is entirely made out of garbage (rubbish) and is mostly made of plastics, although glass and cans (tins) are included and the surfboard of course.

I cannot get toilet paper.

You heard me right folks.

Some might think the connection between the image and toilet paper is a long one but not when you realise it comes from trees!

Australia has about 60 confirmed Coronavirus cases so far (no doubt it will escalate as it has elsewhere). This has caused mass hysteria. The herd mentality has kicked in and toilet paper, along with other things such as rice, pasta, tissues, cooking oil, medicines and long life products have disappeared from the shelves. Toilet paper and hand sanitizer are being stolen from public places.

Seriously I shake my head. You may laugh. The memes going around are hilarious.

Who is more stupid? The Americans for stopping buying Conrona Beers or the Australians for buying a year’s worth of toilet paper in one go?

It is funny.

Except I cannot buy toilet paper.

And then it is with a heavy heart that I wonder -if people can behave en mass so irrationally for something like this,

Shipwreck Reflected, Fleetwood, Lancashire

I LOVE these old shipwrecks near the Marsh Wet Llands at Fleetwood on the Wyre Estuary. This is one of two metal bodied boats (the others are wooden and are in various states of decay).

This was shot at the end of Feb 2021 during quite a high tide which allows for this boat in particular to be completely surrounded by the incoming tide. One word of warning though, this area is full of deep gullies filled with gloopy mud. You cannot see them during a high tide as they are under water so if you are going to visit during a high tide, arrive a good while beforehand and study the layout of the area. You might just be grateful once the water starts filling up.

We cannot "heal" until every treasonous tyrant is held accountable. New information is coming out every day that this insurrection was far more violent than anyone realized with people having specific targets of congressional leaders as well as VP Mike Pence that they wanted to assassinate to re-install Trump in power. People may ask why impeach now? The answer is pretty clear:

Happy Caturday!! Viking Iceland cruise excursion from Reykjavik

Garðskagaviti can be found on the topmost point of the Reykjanes Peninsula, directly above Keflavík International Airport (KEF). Originally, a lighthouse at the site was constructed with timber in 1897 by the Danish Lighthouse Commission. In 1933, the lighthouse was renovated, reinforced with concrete, before being decommissioned in 1944 due to fear of landslides.

Garðskagaviti, standing at 26 metres high, was built as a replacement. It is today considered one of Iceland’s most picturesque lighthouses with its vibrant red and white paint job and gorgeous surrounding scenery.

The lighthouse keeper kept a permanent residence here until 1979.

The comet moth (Argema mittrei) or Madagascan moon moth is an African moth, native to the rain forests of Madagascar. The male has a wingspan of twenty centimeters and a tail span of fifteen centimeters, making it one of the world's largest silk moths. The female lays from 120-170 eggs, and after hatching the larvae feed on Eugenia and Weinmannia leaves for approximately two months before pupating. The cocoon has numerous holes to keep the pupa from drowning in the daily rains of its natural habitat. The adult moth cannot feed and only lives for 4 to 5 days.
