ENGLISH CAPTION: "Hot Waters". The geothermal field of the the Domuyo Mount is one of the most impressive of Argentina, and is linked to a relatively young volcanism (last eruptions were approximately 100,000 years ago). Among the many hot springs that can be visited on the area, one of the most beautiful is known as "Las Olletas" (spanish for "Little Pools"), where the arising hot waters (at almost 90° C) splash into several small sized pools (20-30 cm wide). This photo show one of those pools splashing watter into the surroundings.

As long as I can remember this car was on 7th Avenue and Waverly Place. I came across it next to a car body shop in Gowanus. I'm guessing that location of Caliente Cab has gone out of business.

Flowers in the house and garden help against depression I just read!
A warm yellow.
Here is to a vibrant and sunny mid-week eh.
The genus named after the Swedish baron Alströmer who brought them back from a trip to South America in 1753. Also called the Peruvian Lily or Inca Lily, is a South American genus of about 50 species of flowering plants.
Almost all of the species are restricted to one of two distinct centres of diversity, one in central Chile, the other in eastern Brazil.
Species of Alstroemeria from the Atacama Desert of Chile are winter-growing plants while those of Brazil are summer-growing.
The flower, which resembles a miniature lily, is very popular for bouquets and flower arrangements in the commercial cut flower trade.
They have a vase life of about two weeks.
Thank you, M, (*_*)

Its a month until summer hits high gear down here, but today was a scorcher, with temps in the mid 30s (mid to high 90s F) breaking December records up the east coast of the South Island.
Equally surprising was 'fruit salad' attired DC 4876 leading a train. That cab interior must be pretty grungy now as I'm not sure if this loco has ever been repainted since its rebuild from a high-nosed DA in the early 1980s. I read recently in an old Railfan that the loco had been in for some work at Hutt ten years ago but somehow escaped before being repainted in either of the NZR/Tranzrail blues, Tranzrail black, Toll Rail green, or several versions of Kiwirail paint that have adorned locos since Fruit Salad (and the flying Tomato variation) was superseded in the early 1990s.
Also interesting that this loco still has original side windows, lit number boards rather than stickers, the old tail nights box on the nose and the cutout in the cabside where the tablet exchanger used to mount, . The last tablet-workings in NZ (Masterton and north of Chch) were in the early 1990s. Long live the fruit salad.

With Tehachapi's 'golden hills' living up to their name against the early morning light a trio of trains came into view for me between Caliente and Cliff. At lower left BNSF's westbound Z WSPSTO leaves Caliente with the Caliente Narrows ahead. Up at Bealville an eastbound BNSF stack train awaits UP's hot westbound ZLCBR which can be seen up at Cliff. There is nothing like Tehachapi :}

The town of Caliente (yes, that is all of it at the rear of the train) is situated in a very remarkable horseshoe curve on the relentless climb of Tehachapi Pass in California. Four Santa Fe GE Dash 8-40CWs pull a long intermodal train eastbound toward Tunnel 1 on the big curve on March 3, 1994.

In January 2023, I looked closer at the edges of La Palmas latest eruption zone, where devastating streams of lava and inhabited areas merge into a grotesque scenery. The Paradise succumbs to the curse of its own creation. Yet again.
