I feel like I'm trapped in one of these lately. Between work, home stuff, Josh's soccer, Ozzie's softball, and Jay's dance, everything is closing in. My normal escape is to an island, of course, but I don't have time to do that right now.

I cannot wait until Thanksgiving. Then everything lets up for a while.

I love playing with fire - but it´s tricky and not at all easy capturing those vivid flames...

Shot about 200 photos in the blacksmiths shop and now I am having a hard time finding flames that I feel are right for this assignment...

So apparently these women are unofficial, but all the same, they are monks. You know it is a lady as the women wear long sleeves.

October 24, 2006 --- baby hermit crab with the glorious blue sky. The cute little animal is looking at the Universe in a manner otherwise impossible without the intervention of an outside force. I wonder if it learned anything from the experience?

A similar event happened with humankind when walking on the moon. It seemed that humankind would have learned a lesson from that experience but that didn't happen. The species went on behaving in a foolish, destructive, violent, warmongering manner without pause.

Humans have poisoned the ocean, land and atmosphere. Humans have provoked climate change, resource depletion and addicted humankind to all sorts of unhealthy habits. Humans have also thoroughly overpopulated the planet.

Thse are not the behaviors of an animal that wants to survive. Either humankind was planning to thoroughly trash the Earth before leaving or the species has chosen to drive itself extinct.

In either case, a day will come when humans no longer exist and there is no memory of humankind's existence on the surface of the Earth.

Too bad that thousands of innocent species are going to be driven extinct in the process. Humankind cannot live at peace with anything. Even the most beautiful harmless animals are considered worthy of death by humankind.

Humankind ... how did you turn out so terribly wrong? What ever happened to the species to provoke such a display of destructiveness, violence and hatred?

The Montreal Botanical Garden are proud to presenting once again the Buterflies be Free event where butterflies are set free in one of the greenhouses. A great family activity for the weekend.

For 'Take a class with Dave & Dave': Week 90 - Assignment 2. Surveillance.

Didn't really know what to do with this one, but it kind of hit me when I was shooting for the 'fake miniature' photo. The images are all original, just manipulated in PS, and then I added in the timestamp. I realized how easy it would be to just sit there all day taking pictures of people without them knowing. Weeeeeird and creepy. Also makes you wonder how many cameras are trained on you throughout your day....

Shelly in deep thought (or just sleeping - this was taken after midnight!). I know that I've used the same subject for both but the other "photo opportunity" happened while I was doing this one. Since I'll not have time do another "Hair" to replace this one this will have to do.

cwd1012 - Hair: This is one of those ones that would be really easy to make extremely uninteresting. That's not your goal! Come up with an interesting photograph that focuses on hair.
