HUMAN FEET
I've always been aware my feet are odd but I've never realised before today that from underneath my toes look like little balls. What's that about? :)

Class with Daves assignment: Self-Portrait With Camera - We've all seen the lazy self-portrait where the photographer points his camera at a mirror and clicks the shutter button. The challenge here is to take a photograph of yourself taking a photograph of yourself...and find a way to make it interesting.
If you look closely in the eye you can see my hand taking the picture (hope that counts)

Assignment 3. The Cutout.
a day to late for assignment 1. Art Supplies. We haven't done an awful lot with product style photography, and it's high time we started. Make a still life of art supplies. Tag with cwd381.
Kabul, Afghanistan (March 1, 2011) -- Qandi, a female Afghan National Policeman for Police District 7 in Kabul, inspects a car and its passengers at a checkpoint in Kabul. For the first time, female ANP are manning checkpoints in Kabul, a position once held only by male ANP. Qandi's first day at her new duty was Feb. 19, and has had no major problems thus far, said Qandi.
The Afghan Women's International Team (in red) played a friendly, yet competitive, game of soccer against a team of International Security Assistance Force women (in gold) on April 1. The game ended with neither team scoring a goal, but the real goal of the game was met. The Afghan women had an opportunity to play their sport against another women's team.
The team does not get the opportunity to play against other teams in Afghanistan, so the game was chance for them to play a new opponent and build a relationship with women from several NATO countries, said Khalida, the coach, and a player of the Afghan Women's International Team.
Kabul, Afghanistan (Feb. 25, 2011) -- Command Sgt. Maj. Marvin Hill addresses a crowd of servicemembers at New Kabul Compound about the importance of Black History Month. Hill spoke of the many "first" African-Americans from the first to receive the Medal of Honor to the first U.S. President. He encouraged the servicemembers if they cannot be the first, then be the best.
"What if you can't be first? Celebrate, honor and remember the first," said Hill. "Then you drive on with the knowledge that each of you still has the power to distinguish yourself from the crowd by being great or the best."
I do not know why he is blind.

If you read the words and recognize them as the lyrics to a song...then you are more aware than I. My DH wrote me a letter when I was stationed at Fort Sam Houston (San Antonio) and he was stationed at Goodfellow AFB (3 hours away)
I treasured this letter and the heartfelt poetry that he scrawled on the back....it wasn't till years later that I found out that it was the words to a song....

I took the photo of my eye and the photo of the clouds, combined them with PSE, added a little saturation/contrast/etc. After the laborious task of layer mask erasing....voila!
