A new double-track version of Auburn Junction was evolving in the summer of 1997 on the old B&O across northern Indiana as a result of the CSX mainline upgrade. This photo was taken on 7/10/97.

CSX trackage in the former Mead (now Glatfelter) paper mill in Chillicothe, Ohio. The second track from left is the former Toledo Division/Wellston Subdivision main, from Dayton to Wellston, Ohio. It was severed as a through route in the early 1970s. CSX local H776 still serves this plant daily M-F. The plant also has its own switching engines. Sorry about the bridge rail in the shot - the only safe way to get this shot is from inside a vehicle!

Although not visible in this view, the westbound CSX intermodal train is crossing over what used to be the Baltimore & Ohio's Valley Line between Cleveland and Canton via Akron. The train is just east of North Arlington Street in Akron.

In the mid 2000's, these 6 thousand horse power beasts were making regular appearances on the CSX Trenton Sub, especially in hot shot intermodal service.

CSX 735 is a General Electric ES44AC-H built in 2007.
This CSX spray train was photographed at the St. Petersburg marshalling yard south of 22 Avenue North in April of 2008. Led by a powerful SD38 engine, the train carries weed killer which is applied to the roadbed by a pump system and nozzles. An operator can see out of windows in the modified boxcar, and can cut off the flow at grade crossings or bridges. One application of the spray can retard weed growth for about a year. During my Spring Break Vacation to Folkston, Georgia, we catch CSX Train I03727 passing through on its way to the Florida East Coast Railway's Bowden Yard in Jacksonville, Florida from Pinoca Yard in Charlotte, North Carolina. In the lead of this evening Train is GE C40-8W #7868, one of only a handful of Dash 8s still on CSX"s Active Roster and sporting their original 1990s Yellow Nose 2 Scheme. At the time i shot this the engine had just recently come out of storage due to a downturn in traffic thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic.
