So despite it being Spring we are still into Winter season. Yesterday was some more snow and later in the evening we had freezing rain/glitter. The only good thing about this is the fact is makes such pretty photo subjects. Taken for ODC "where the sidewalk ends" (this is at the end of our driveway) and also for The Flickr Lounge "leading lines" Have a great day everyone.
The rugged limestone cliffs meet the crystal-clear, emerald-blue waters of the Mediterranean sea. This dramatic coastal view captures the raw beauty and contrast between land and sea.

On the crystal clear evening of 14th May 2022, 20189 was sounding lovely at full chat through Gatley working 5Z43 17.34 Manchester Piccadilly - Tyseley after operating a private Vintage Trains charter to York and back, 47773 was trailing.
The River Derwent flowing through Borowdale in The Lake District in Cumbria. Standing on stepping stones to take this; after my glorious hike up nearby Castle Crag Fell.

On Memorial Day, we went to the Skagit-Whatcom County Line Ponds to look for some birds. It was such a quiet and tranquil place, because it is a little dirt road off the side of the highway, and nobody really goes there.
There was a robin who was really panicked at the sight of us and was circling us with really loud calls (we probably walked too close to its nest). It was as if this robin has never seen a human before.
There were several of these old swimming platforms lining the ponds. They were covered with leaves and moss, and it looks like they haven't been used in awhile. The water looked so clear and I loved the blue/green look it had!
For some reason I’m very fond of central compositions. I know lots of people don’t like this (because they occasionally tell me), but for me the rules are only valid if you want to follow them. Anyway, this image was made at midday, using my 8 stop neutral density filter. I wanted to smooth out the water to really simplify the composition. If I’m honest, I wish I could have gone for a swim here, it was midsummer and lovely and warm. The water was about 3 meters deep and it was crystal clear! Oh how I love St Ives! Out of interest, just after making this image I headed back to the little beach just behind me and I found a spider crab. The tide was as low as I had ever seen it here and I picked it up to show the kids... my son found it fascinating, but my daughter nearly shattered every glass on the beachfront cafe! Oh what a fun birthday it was!

At the Tuolumne Meadows section of Yosemite National Park.
Yosemite National Park sits in the heart of the Sierra Nevada mountain range . . . And just as a truly great piece of music is not judged by one single note but how a variety of notes are put together with the many instruments, such is Yosemite. It doesn't have the highest mountains or the deepest rivers . . . but, wow, how they are all put together.
This is a place like a haven to me when I first see the crystal clear water along the Te Waihou walkway. I have never seen water can be that clear. It was the source to be used to supply about 40% of the spring water in New Zealand. Although it was so beautiful but there were no other people visiting this place when I was there. However, it is a well preserved nature that should be visited if you visit New Zealand.
It is located at a small town called Putaruru. They called this the pride of Putaruru. There were two alternative routes you can reach to the spring, one is through the side of the normal Tirau to Rotorua/ Taupo highway which you will need to walk for about 2hrs to reach the spring. The other alternative is you drive further down the road into Leslie road to reach another start point of the Te Waihou walkway which you only need to walk for 20minutes to see the spring.

She said the cold might make you feel warm. She said, hold one of your hands in mine. She lifted me to the sunrise and gently put me back into the snow. I obeyed.
