Göteborg city "solves" the problem of people sleeping under bridges.
This is a kind of "If you don't stop writing on the walls, we'll remove them!" logic.

During November and December, on Sundays, Brewster shellfish license holders are welcome to harvest a half bucket (5 quarts) of oysters from the Brewster community shellfish grant.

Rogozhskaya Sloboda is a historical district of Moscow that emerged in the late 16th century. Old-rite merchant families traditionally settled there and the district became the spiritual centre for Moscow’s old believers’ community.
The great thing about Flickr is the community and its ability to bring together like minded people to stand on a foggy hillside at silly o'clock and watch the world wake up. Also present, Michael Dutson and Lee Finney

For the Flickr 21 Challenge day 20 the theme is community. I give you a community of Sandhill Cranes. I thought about this theme for days and didn't know what I was going to do, it's the most difficult theme for me yet. I did some research and found that yes indeed groups of birds are a community.
One day while out driving I came upon a field full of these wonderful birds. I love to try to spot them in the sky when I hear their calls.
It is a rare community in this part of Pennsylvania that does not have a little league baseball field. This is the first year kids this age have had to face player pitchers. It makes for a lot of walks, hit batsmen and once in a while the ball gets hit. At any rate little league is a community building experience, if it's done well and with the kids development as the top priority.

Scenic, SD - I used Hipstamatic - current version and John S Lens, D-Type Plate Film, and Triple Crown Flash - no other software was used for this. I was actually attending a Douglas Beasley workshop in South Dakota and on the way back from a location we stopped in Scenic, SD. I composed the image wanting to be close enough to have the Scenic Community Church and playground in the scene - the storm clouds were a bonus and the reason I close black and white.
I love how this Japanese palm (Fatsia Japonica) fits into its surroundings both inside and outside the fence. Its new growth in spring opens like a fern, revealing webbed feet that glow in a sudden burst of sunlight. And though it will never grow as tall as its neighbors (I hope), this palm is becoming more of a player as the years go by.
Unable to get a food delivery for nearly a week, we decided to risk a walk yesterday to the little corner store nearby and to the butcher's one block more - just to see how they were faring and how well supplied. There were a surprising number of people on the street, mostly in careful pairs, some masked, some not. For our part, John and I looked more like bandits than friendly neighbors, and I learned quickly how hard it is to convey a smile with a scarf wrapped tightly across one's face. It's all about the eyes. I haven't lived here long enough to know anyone on the street by name, but this is my community in these tender times, all of us nodding even as we circle each other gingerly and move toward the relative safety of our homes.

Guide Mothers and Community Mobilizers are vital connections with communities. In this part of Honduras the mobilizers have lots of distance to cover in a mountainous region, without any transportation other than a couple of motorbikes.
