The University of Michigan Arts Initiative’s Community Sing 2024, uses song and poetry to bring the people together to help process the current moment by caring for oneself and others, September 13, 2025 near Burton Memorial Tower.
A community health fair was held at the downtown Central Library on Wednesday, April 12, 2017. The event included a number of screenings & activities, all free and open to the public. Held in conjunction with National Bookmobile Day.

The annual Wassailing ceremony took place at Bridport Community Orchard, Dorset, on the afternoon of Sunday 12th Januaryer 2025. A large crowd turned out to sing, to dance with Wyld Morris and hear storyteller Martin Maudsley. The Apple King & Queen were crowned, lots of noise was made and hopefully there will be a good crop of apples this year! This old custom of blessing the orchards traditnally took place on Twelfth Night and was originally a Pagan tradition dating back many hundred of years. Volunteers from the Community Orchard served hot and cold apple juice, and Dorset Nectar Cider of Bridport sold plenty of cider!

Good festival; lots of acts, good music, lots of characters and the sun shone right to the end. (And the ball court's walls got a completely fresh set of art from Sheffield's finest.)
