if travel is searching and home whats been found...

taken while traveling home from working in Ludlow.

On consulting my maps, I have concluded that this was taken near Eardiston, Shropshire.

A night walk with my mate at ethero this evening. Bit too much wind and light pollution for my liking but my orbs are getting better. Purple and green gels on my tool. cool.

Ahhhh... the beauty of an early evening winter twilight! Well... truth be told... a slightly enhanced early evening winter twilight. The work day done, people everywhere are making their way through the maze of neighborhoods and safely home. And aside from the ocassional arrival home... it is quiet outside. Postcard winter wonderland, bathed in twilight blue. Still... if I were to have an art director's control of this scene...

- I would have liked to have seen more warm interior glow in the windows of the houses that are in frame. Like inviting sanctuaries from winter's chill.

- I'd like to have the option of better in-camera DoF control. Yeah, I know... shoot with my DSR. But that's not the point. ;)

- I'm wanting to have more creative control over some of the post-processing decisions... like vignetting and tone variation. I'm getting some funky tone gradation that I'm not completely happy with. And I'm sure that kind of control is available out there in iOS app land. Especially now that Photoshop Touch is available (as of today) for the iPhone (4s and 5)! I think it's a combination of what the apps are capable of... and mastering those capabilites. But I guess that's no different whether your on a mobile device, a laptop, or a desktop...

And so... the journey... and the trial and error... and the learning... continues.

Sorry, we're closed, but coming soon, real soon....

As lock down restrictions begin to ease here in Ireland, restaurants will be allowed to reopen as part of Phase 3 on the 29th June 2020, the Good World restaurant on Westmoreland Street gets all excited.

Its the heart of the city, yet this heart has stopped beating, people are urged to stay safe, stay indoors.

Irish public gatherings are cancelled, pubs & bars are shut.

Dublin & indeed the world has been put to sleep to stop this pandemic.

We will get through this & we will prevail, we are in this together, said Leo Vradkar, Irish premier.

This photo has a point to it.

I'm noticing that I have a lot of contacts who never comment on my photos. I get so many emails saying contacts have uploaded that it clogs my inbox and robs me of precious time.

(I know I can shut that off, I tried that and I missed a lot of photos from regulars.)

I know it goes both ways, there are some contacts I don't comment on either because they don't comment on me or I have no interest in flowers or sunsets.

I'm not interested in your photography skills, I'm interested in you.

How can you have 2,000 contacts and keep up with all of them? Like friends in real life, I'd rather have less but have them be real ones.

So I am going to do the same thing I am trying to do to my love handle - trim the fat.

I am going to pay close attention in the next two-three weeks to see who comments on at least a semi-regular basis. I don't expect a comment on every photo. I know you have a life, and not every photo will move you enough to comment.

I will also look back and take into account the people who do comment infrequently, but also post infrequently.

Then I am going to start removing contacts. The whole point is to save precious time and inbox space.

The other point to this photo was that I look awful today and I just couldn't show my face.

I only noticed the homoerotic undertones of this as I typed. And then I realized a certain segment of my audience is going to have a field day.

Helicopters flying over the D.C. A storm was brewing to the West of us, and this one particular cloud with it's swirling, spiral look drew my eyes to it. It really looked ominous!

Rusty loves to look out the window, watching for anyone to walk by, in hopes that they are coming to visit him. I always say that he loves people but tolerates dogs, and when someone greets him, he excitedly gives them his quirky dog smile.

Here is an old shot from the J.W Marriott poolside/dining area where we were playing a convention last year. It's funny how year after year things are constantly changing, especially in my line of work. I'm doing less Disney stuff and more songwriting and producing again. It's a bit unnerving at times but I manage to push forward and new opportunities always seem to arise. Today was one of those days that reminding me of those times of change . . . I just completed a music project that I've been working on for the past year or so and it just felt awesome!

I hope you guys had a great Monday. Maybe I'll have some new pictures this week . . . Oh and I'm also excited for my new iPhone 4S! I've been a blackberry user for nearly the past 10 years, so this was a huge change for me.

Monument Valley is a region of the Colorado Plateau characterized by a cluster of vast sandstone buttes, the largest reaching 1,000 ft (300 m) above the valley floor. It is located on the Arizona-Utah state line near the Four Corners area. The valley lies within the range of the Navajo Nation Reservation and is accessible from U.S. Highway 163.

Monument Valley has been featured in many forms of media since the 1930s. Director John Ford used the location for a number of his best-known films. The area is part of the Colorado Plateau. The elevation of the valley floor ranges from 5,000 to 6,000 feet (1,500 to 1,800 m) above sea level.

The floor is largely siltstone of the Cutler Group, or sand derived from it, deposited by the meandering rivers that carved the valley. The valley's vivid red color comes from iron oxide exposed in the weathered siltstone. The darker, blue-gray rocks in the valley get their color from manganese oxide.
