Long lake is still open but the ice is beginning to creep in from the edges. Low temperatures are highlighted by the frost which remains on logs and paths throughout the day.

Even on a bad day, Coming Home to a scene like this makes me glad I'm alive.

Back from the sea. A strong south-easterly wind was driving a big surf onto the rocks. This fella and two others were hunting over the rocks, first floating on the breeze as they checked for fish below, then flying back to shore and starting the hunt again. The angle of those wings reminds me of a big jumbo jet.
