This colorful consist, minus the black SD70M-2, should be making their way back to south Central PA today.
Seen here on 9/3, the 9-1-1 had just pulled away from the Harrisburg Transportation Center after picking up the Amtrak units. These four units would go back to Harrisburg Yard and pick up a few cars before heading to Scranton for Railfest 2015.

I did not use flash, but as I was positioning my camera, I noticed that purple and white orbs would move in apparent line with the Sun's rays coming through the window. I sure love the outcome. I've got a couple others I might be posting later.
NS 236 with 6 engine head to Portlock in South Norfolk in Petersburg. went a little lower for this shot. i wanted to be closed to the engine as it roared passed me and it was really cool, 236 normally runs with 3 engines so to see double like this was crazy. i sure you can tell I'm really happy with my two NS picture from this spot, i have a video I might put up of 236.

When the show is over, the guys let me take some pictures of the layout.
They either maneuver the equipment to suit my artistic vision, or I used my newfound engineer skills to move the trains myself.
Note that this is NOT stacked. I used focus stacking* on the other shots you'll see eventually, but I positioned this one so that I wouldn't need anything more than a tiny aperture.
*While the guys wait for me to finish, I have to explain focus stacking. They know more about that photographic technique than 90% of photographers. ;-)

bathed in the afternoon light filtering through grand windows, the train station in hameln, germany, resonates with the steady rhythm of passengers. a group of elderly women, in sync with each other’s pace, make their way toward the exit, eager to return to the comforts of home. the station, a hub of stories and journeys, witnesses the quiet determination of its daily travelers, while shadows stretch across the polished floor, marking the passage of another day in this historic midsize city.
