After the 2-6-2 steam engine #104 struggled to pull the train from Keystone to Hill City earlier in the day due to wet rails, high hood GP9 #63 gets the call for the afternoon run down to Keystone.
Now living at Black Hills Central Railroad, it was built as a GP9 for the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad in November 1956 as #6178.

The E&LS Crivitz job is pulling a set of cars that were left on the main north of town, with about 75 cars that were all empty, are being pulled back down into town and then worked them in the yard to line them up. It was a mix of log cars, box cars, and some 2-bay and 3-bay hoppers toward the end.

Bees. ( As it is World Mead Day on this day )
Best viewed large please ..
Would you credit it but at the moment the bees are a bit thin on the ground here with all the parched conditions . Had the challenge been for butterflies , then I would have been much better off . Butterflies spotted this week --- Jersey Tiger Moth ,Holly Blue , Large White , Small Skipper Speckled Wood , to name those that I can remember . I did see a few bee type creatures that might have done for the challenge up near the park , but not sure what were bees and what were hover flies . Anyway with a nod to Winnie The Pooh here is a swarm of bees coming home to the hive .
The wooded background was at the edge of the park , the bees and the hive were created for me thanks to my daughter in Sanntangle style and then photographed especially for the challenge . The bee in charge watching the coming and goings is the only older element in the scene .
I have made this as I might not get a decent bee capture this week , what I have shot this week can be seen in the triptych in the first comment box .
So Coming Home is the theme for S&S ------
Smoke bellows from the exhaust stacks as Frank Chapman starts the Rolls Royce Merlin on Hurricane I P3717 at the Shuttleworth Collection Military Airshow 2019.
The sunflowers that are coming out from the birdseed are ready to burst into bloom. However, there will be fewer blooms because the chipmunks keep climbing on them and eating the buds. I am now having a major problem with so very many chipmunks.

The early stages fall start to show in the swamps of Louisiana. I'm really missing the swamps lately. The solitude is like no other. Just cruising around these old trees is so awesome.
Hoping everyone out there is doing well. More new images coming soon. Be well...peace and love.

Cherbury Street, Hoxton. Hackney Council has knocked down some estate garages and plans to build new flats in their place.
Since I took this shot, someone has added quotation marks around the word "soon".
This was one of those magical evenings where everything came together. We had some colorful clouds at sunset, some nice wave action along with some beautiful light. What a wonderful show it was!
IC 3138 leads the L542 Addison local through Cicero as it closes in on Hawthorne. These ancient R2 signals are some of the last of their kind on the entire line all the way to western Iowa.
Isaac was able to come back home for a visit recently, and we managed to finish another collab while he was here.
Full model to be revealed this week!
I'm always excited to find the first of the Spring Beauties along our forest path.
I eagerly await them each year.

HVRM 52 sits after a long day of work being done to re assemble the brake components and traction motor leads done by myself and Ben H. She will soon be pulling passengers again later this year.

Strawberries on a summer evenin'
Baby, you're the end of June
I want your belly
And that summer feelin'
Getting washed away in you
Breathe me in, breathe me out
I don't know if I could ever go without
Watermelon sugar high
The Vlietlanden is the place to go to for daytrips. At 6 km paddle distance from the kayak club it takes an hour to get here. Today I paddled the circumference of the entire area at a slow pace (8km). At a beach I put on a kettle and boiled up some tea, had lunch and read a book. It was a pleasant day trip.
This is one of my favourite places from our Indonesia trip - a super long jetty that connects a Bajau village, which sits among rocks in the sea, with another small village on one of the many islands of the Togeans.
