In 1846 Comal County held its first court session in the home of its county clerk, Conrad Seabaugh. Courthouse facilities acquired in 1849 proved inadequate and were replaced with a 2-story building at the southeast corner of the city plaza in 1860. The building fell into disrepair and in 1898 the county chose famous Texas courthouse architect J. Riely Gordon to design a new courthouse. Gordon's original design, incorporating four entrances compatible with the building's proposed location at the center of the plaza, was nevertheless retained when this corner lot site was chosen instead.
Austin contractors Fischer and Lamie used stone quarried 10 miles north of New Braunfels on land owned by Texas/U.S. statesman Edward Mandell house to build this courthouse in 1898. The 3-1/2 story Romanesque-style structure features rounded pavilion entrances often employed by Gordon and includes dramatic massing and superb detail in its stone work. A 1919-31 larger stone jail addition was designed by Jeremiah Schmidt of New Braunfels. The courthouse underwent considerable interior and minor exterior renovations in 1966-67 and 1987. The courthouse reflects New Braunfels German heritage and the spirit of Comal County at the turn of the twentieth century. (1993) (Marker No. 987)

and i shall fatten you up! as delicious as my gumdrop eaves are, the vittles that i procure in my humble kitchen will make your mouth water even more!~
**on these warm spring days, i leave the doors open, otis loves it as much as i do. being a cat, he is very much an advocate for what we call 'the insie-outsies':
"oh, i want to go out!" " oh, let me in!" "oooh, got to be out there right now!" "omg, urgent need to come inside!"
here in the north, the sun has currently been rising at 5:15, and setting around 9, but it doesn't get dark until at least 10; and it isn't even solstice. LOVE IT. this is, of course, the flip side of our winters... the grass is always greener!?!

Come Prima
~ A. R. Ammons
I know
there is
perfection in the being
of my being
that I am
holy in amness
as stars or
paperclips.
that the universe,
moving from void to void,
pours in and out
through me:
there is a point,
only itself,
that fills space,
an emptiness
that is plentitude:
a void that is all being,
a being that is void:
I am perfect:
the wind is perfect:
dishwater, running is perfect:
everything is:
I raise my hand

Come By Chance is a town on the isthmus of the Avalon Peninsula in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Located on Placentia Bay with Newfoundland's only oil refinery.
This was a possible 365 Days shot. I didn't have much in the way of sunset to shoot so I was playing with the long exposure. I like this one, but I'm going with my other shot from tonight for my submission.
Taken at my mates birthday party I found this girl inviting me to come dance...
Obviously having the camera in hand I grabbed the pic and then joined her =D
Come see these 90's machines compete against each other for glory! Have you driven one of these? Leave a comment!
Dal Hangry spending time by a strange bench in my local town, Witham (pronounced 'Wittem'). This metal bench is really more of a piece of surrealist sculpture than a seat; its lines are all at strange angles, and it dips sharply in the middle, so that two people sitting on it with slide together!
Hangry isn't very happy with this bench. It is full of huge gaps for her legs to fall through, and she thinks that it's a very poor seat indeed! She has admitted, though, that it's not bad for climbing, although it does need some fresh paint.
The bench was presented to Witham when the town was twinned with Waldbröl in Germany. It is entitled 'Come Closer', I suppose because it brings people together, metaphorically and literally! It is a very bizarre thing, it looks like a car has crashed into it, and it has real charm and character, just like Hangry!
