Although the classic lines of a high-nosed EMD hood unit are still there, subtle changes have occurred over the years of service. Most obvious are the missing class lights above the number boards of N&W 2349. Also gone are the footboards this SD9 was equipped with upon release from La Grange in 1957 as NKP 349, and the steps have surely been modified in a rebuilding by N&W as has the cut levers, to add to crew safety. There are most likely other modifications that have been done to this locomotive, both visible and hidden from view under the hood, but even after all of that, this is stil one classy locomotive.
It was a cold Sunday with a lot of rain. Towards the evening it cleared up and it was time to go outside with the camera and well dressed I went to Gentbrugge station where I could expect and also received this steel train to Wallonia in the best of the blue hour.

The classic postcard view of the upper pond and the moon bridge beyond. This time of year it's particularly nice, with all the fall color around.

Former Conrail SD50 6751, now CSXT 8665 and one of only a handful left that have not been derated to 3,000 HP, heads a southbound U-610 hopper train that just turned the corner at Fostoria, OH, passing under the classic C&O era cantilever signal south of the diamonds. The Geeps and caboose off to the left are stationed here for the various locals that run around town.
Happy Truck Thursday! Captured in Portland, Oregon. It appears to be a circa 1958 GMC. Can't tell if the bed frame is original, but the overall condition looks okay and could be restorable.
Last in my Eastbourne series, the classic view of the pier illuminated by the pastel light of the setting sun.

I've always loved these cars, and if I'm ever independently wealthy, I will get myself one. SL will have to do for now.
Look at this classic light on the front of the Broadway Hotel at Woolloongabba, Brisbane. I could imagine it shining through the mist or fog in a classic whodunit movie or Sherlock Holmes story.
I hope one day it shines again.

I love American cars - especially these oldies. Today we stumbled across the tail end of a vintage car show in Red Wood City. Fab.
