Although the yard has been rebuilt significantly since the CN took over, their ex-Missabe Proctor Yard is still serving in the save general capacity that it has for it's entire life; serving as a staging yard for jennies heading from the Missabe Range to the ore docks in Duluth.
After my visit to Buckfast Abbey I decided to goto Exeter for a bite to eat and then to have a visit to the Cathedral. When we got there the Cathedral was about to close so there wasn't a lot of people around.
I have been here a few times and I am always blown away by the scale of the place and was something I really wanted to show in my images.
Shot at the back of the Cathedral looking into The Lady Chapel this image focuses on the massive stained glass window. Unfortunatly I could not move the chair out of the image but apart from this I am really happy this picture.
but always modern N°5

In a bright cold morning, British Railways(W) 1950 built Collett designed ‘Castle’ 4-6-0 no.7029 'Clun Castle’ show a light exhaust as passes Slitting Mill crossing with the Vintage Trains Birmingham New Street to York ‘Christmas White Rose’.
Outside the cathedral in the centre of Strasbourg of my previous submition was a beautiful and serene concerto going on outside the Palais des Rohan. Young people were performing with flute, violin and vocals. Here in these classic scenery this young woman was playing harpsichord. So beautiful. Besides taking some images we were just standing and enjoying this freebee of our visit to the Alsace.

Entry for Puristic Parts category of the Summer Joust, where only basic bricks and plates, plus brick 1x1/2/4 with stud on side, are allowed to be used. I decided it would be fun to combine this category with a classic castle color scheme (based on 6067 Guarded Inn and such) and it was pretty interesting combining colors for the building that I wouldn't normally use. I'd like to note that the building is quite a bit more complex than it looks, and in fact the majority of it (left side of lower level, bottom half of top level) is built upside down (this is done to accommodate the window, which was a massive pain technically, and the right side up parts are necessary to deal with the upper part of the window and the door arch). Probably the hardest part was not being able to use tiles (which was why all those stud directions were necessary to smooth out certain bits!) but it added an interesting technical challenge. Enjoy!
After spending the night in Newton, IA, and upon packing up the car to head east, I turned on the scanner and immediately heard the IAIS 510 copying a warrant for the CBBI to head east out of town! Well, what's any good railfan to do in this situation but to give chase when there's good sunlight, and parallel roads?
As such, the final shot of this mini-chase was in the quaint, Iowa college town of Grinnell, where we see it crossing over the old M&StL. Recently, THAT line has been seeing all of the railfan attention due to the presence of a patched ex-SP GP60 on the Oskie local, but it turns out that the Iowa Interstate DOES still run trains through there.
NS 25K was starting the climb up the Mountain on the way west on a sunny winter afternoon in December of 2003.
SD70M 2588 was leading a NS C44-9W and a CSX AC4400CW at the 'Brickyard" west of Altoona where it was built in 2000 and sold to PRLX in 2020.
How many of you remember the sun visors on vehicles ? I remember my parents had a couple of cars with them. But I am old. LOL
