The Alblasserwaard is a country region in Holland in the south-east of the Dutch province ‘Zuid-Holland’. It also forms the southern part of the ‘Groene Hart’ (Green Heart) national landscape. It is a low-lying, thinly populated polder area that is surrounded by rivers and canals. The Alblasserwaard is crossed by ditches, canals and two small rivers: the Alblas and the Giessen. In the lowest, most western point of the Alblasserwaard, you will find the village of Kinderdijk, where 19 authentic, iconic windmills grace the polder landscape…
As every year, the Baiersbronn Classic starts with us. I've been out and about with my SLR camera and a telephoto lens for a long time ... and yes, that's something different than with the iPhone. 😎👍
Easter is here this Sunday. No Easter Car Show in Forest Park this year due to the COVID. I guess we'll have to let these old cars get 1 year older before we see them next year.

Fiat Cinquecento Classic. I don't normally post photos of cars or airplanes, partly because of their impact on the climate, but I'm making an exception for this Fiat 500. There's something special about its appearance, its friendly design, and perhaps even the memories of wonderful old movies set in Italy. I stumbled upon this specimen, beautifully lit against a dark background and I couldn't help but photograph it.
After working the interchange, NS didn’t drop off the cars they we’re supposed to do they went about a mile down and tied down for the day.

La Zanigrad dall'altro lato mi ha veramente impressionato, ma un tramonto fiorito nel posto classico e con il mio treno preferito, vale da sola l'uscita in terra slovena.
32A heads past the famous farm at NYA. Nothing better than bright sunny skies and an E unit... the steam engine on the back was also nice.
The steamer Kinsman Independent still a coal burner is downbound leaving the locks in Soo harbor. Carrying most likely a load of grain out of Superior, Wisconsin or Duluth heading for Buffalo her usual route on June 26, 1980. Originally the Richard V. Lindaberry of the United States Steel fleet, she ran thru the 1987 season and was sold for scrap in 1988.
Shot taken at National Museum of Transportation in Kirkwood, Missouri. I forget what year this car is from. I took a photo of that information on an informational sign near this automobile, and will add it later once I find that photo.
Finally! For many years I wanted to take a trip to Montana to shoot trains in mountains, and this year me and a few friends were able to do it. After meeting a couple eastbounds, MRL LAUBOZ heads west through the curve outside Columbus with a pair of SD40-2XRs for power, next to a swollen Yellowstone River. We almost cancelled our trip due to flooding the previous week, but decided to wait and see, and thank God we did. Although this was only the first shot of the chase on this day, it might be my favorite one.

Playing to the crowd? Can only think the driver was aware of the waiting photographers
A. A. Milne named the character Winnie-the-Pooh after a teddy bear owned by his son, Christopher Robin Milne, on whom the character Christopher Robin was based. Shepard in turn based his illustrations of Pooh on his own son's teddy bear named Growler, instead of Christopher Robin's bear.. The rest of Christopher Milne's toys – Piglet, Eeyore, Kanga, Roo, and Tigger – were incorporated into Milne's stories. Two more characters, Owl and Rabbit, were created by Milne's imagination, while Gopher was added to the Disney version.

A SOO geep pauses between shifts, shuffling intermodal tubs - mornings and nights at CP's Schiller Park yard. 4411 as seen from ubiquitous vanilla SOO wide vision caboose. Once Soo Line's largest yard, about 6 tracks remain today, besides pad tracks and container parking spots, in this odd satellite yard, located on the CN mainline to Western Canada.
Two consecutively numbered SD40-2, showing off their classic EMD lines on a cold but sunny winter day, are in the process of building their outbound train in the small yard used to exchange trafic with Xstrata Kidd Creek Mine private railroad.
