I just love a classic Class 1 branchline local and can't get enough of this scene.
CSXT's Framingham based L004 (old B724) has dropped their train on the at MP QBU28.7 on the Fitchburg Branch and are shoving down the weed choked spur leading to Safety Kleen. This location is known as Marlborough Junction for the 2 mile branch off this branch that once led northeast into Marlborough Center. Abandoned by the New Haven in 1966, the approximately 800 ft into Safety Kleen that they are now now traversing is all that remains of the branch.
To learn much more about this classic traditional branch line refer to the earlier posts.

Although the yard has been rebuilt significantly since the CN took over, their ex-Missabe Proctor Yard is still serving in the save general capacity that it has for it's entire life; serving as a staging yard for jennies heading from the Missabe Range to the ore docks in Duluth.
but always modern N°5

I spent Friday at the Retro Classics, a classic car show at Stuttgart. They show the most amazing cars there, not only classic cars but also younger ones which are rare and extraordinary. The car in this shot is a real classic car, though, a Mercedes Benz 170S cabriolet A of 1950.
