Not often I see two Camry's near one another but to see two Camry's only a facelift apart doesn't happen.

This was a surprise find, as I wasn't aware the first-generation Camry was sold in Australia! I'd never seen one before, as the Mk1 Camry was never sold in NZ, but over the course of my holiday I saw three... This was pretty rough to be honest - loving those stripes though...

Photo taken at 9.13am AEST, on October 2, 2012.

Rear arches had received a bit of attention both sides, but otherwise it didn't look too bad.

Rear plate and dealer sticker showed it had been sold new by Turner's down in Bury St Edmunds, same place my old Camry Sport came from.

Sold new by Castle Toyota.

From the Taxis Of The World Premier Portfolio sets briefly available at Home Bargains. A brief but bountiful opportunity in grabbing modern licensed Welly in a retail environment dominated by crappy HTI Teamsterz generics. Mint and boxed.

I put this V6 back on the road last month, after the estate got written-off. I had actually MoTed it as long ago as October, knowing it would be handy as a spare car, but hadn't got round to insurance and tax. It's handy to have something I can use as a back-up and as a change to the Avensis daily driver - the Laurel is also taxed but I don't like using it much during winter.

The poor old thing had sat in the corner of the drive since the trackday last April and I thought it deserved a bit of a spruce-up.

Owned by me 2006-2008. I liked it a lot, had done nearly 200k miles by the time I sold it. Might be buying it back again soon, as spares for my latest one...

Camry was adopted today!

A page from the Japanese market brochure for the Toyota Camry. It looks like the ones we had in the west, but I don't think we got any with All Wheel Drive or Twin Cam engines.

Don't know what the collective term is, that'll do. The later Sport missing from this shot, but these are all my third-gen models lined-up. I don't usually park anything out on the track, but the scaffolding on the house plus materials and a skip on the drive has meant I've needed a bit of extra parking space...

From L-R: V6 saloon, on the road but ideally needing one or two things sorting; 2.2 estate which is on the road and doing a great job after I bought it last month; 2.2 estate for spares; 2.2 saloon which was getting repaired but might now become a trackday project.

First attempt at using off camera flash..

What a gem of a car! I think I remember it coming up for sale somewhere recently, not a lot of money either. Done a mere 11,000 miles from new. Same spec as my silver V6, and registered just six days after it. Mine's not bad, considering, but I have to say this is holding up better...

TEC National Show, Billing August 2012.

I hasten to add it has been cleaned in that year, but it needed and deserved a spruce-up having just been serviced and MoTed. This was an exercise that cost more than the purchase price of it last year! The bulk of that was due to having a stainless steel Powerflow exhaust system being made up for it, after abortive attempts to get one that someone supposedly had in stock.

With a good service and a brake caliper being freed-off it's going brilliantly, it's such a useful old tool that's also an enjoyable drive I'm not unhappy to have spent a bit keeping it going. With under 90k on the clock, and me only being its second owner, I think it has many years left in it yet. Makes a change from the Volvos that usually serve duty as big old loadcarriers too.

Again, unsure of whether this is the correct registration - Cartell says G605APB belongs to a Camry GLi auto, no mention of estate or Executive but then it's possible neither of those got listed when they were originally entered onto the DVLA database. If correct then it didn't have a hugely long time on the road, DVLA saying unlicenced since 1999.

My Camry estate needs are well-covered with my 1993 model, but if one of these turned up in good condition at the right time (i.e. rare moment when I had some spare cash) then I don't think I'd say no. In fact there was one for sale a year or two back which I did strongly consider, but as a daily driver I'm probably better-off with my slightly later one.

After 13 years of absence Toyota reintroduced the Camry in Europe in 2019. In most countries sales were quite low. In the Netherlands some 300 Camrys have been registered. Last year Toyota stopped sales of the model here.

A bit battle-scarred this one, and I don't know why there's a plastic bucket on the roof. Good to see though, parked on the same street as the Carina II and Sunny.

Did see a tidy example of the next Camry, like I have several of, but couldn't get a decent photo of it.

The Toyota Camry was a total non event here in the UK. It regularly sold only around a thousand units per year before being axed years ago and is already becoming a rare sight. In the U.S. and some other countries its the complete opposite, it sells in gigantic numbers to consumers who put comfort, space and reliability above premium badging.

I have absolutely no idea what "mark" this Camry is supposed to represent or indeed how many Toyota have actually produced as trying to decipher Camry history on Wikipedia is extremely complicated for a brain like mine :-(

Made by Welly I'm assuming it represents one of the more recent generations as I think this casting is brand new. Typically its a must decent budget diecast with pleasing levels of detailing and finish. Bought recently from my usual Bulgarian Ebayer. Mint and boxed.

Toyota Logo in Camry .. ^.^

Cleaned-up and with replacement rear door off my donor car ready for repainting, hopefully this has been happening while I've been away. Held off getting it repaired until I knew it would pass its MoT.

Certainly a surprise to see this, especially with the turbodiesel engine.
