Wonder what the plate on the Camry came off? I've left a note on it, expressing interest if ever it comes up for sale...

Spotted this car while walking to a friend's place. Wagons of this generation are quite rare now in Melbourne. Taken in North Melbourne. Has a Salisbury Toyota frame, which is in Adelaide. No idea if it's original or not, but it does look original.
Local car, judging by the plate. I had a chat with the owner and left him my number. As I've already bought my old estate back and I have a lead on another like this I hope he doesn't ring too soon...
On a busy road and with difficult light, this was the best I could do at getting mine into shot for comparison.
This one looks in quite good condition, maybe not owned by an enthusiast (are their camry enthusiasts? I suppose there must be..) but at least by an owner who has looked after it quite well.
The reissued number plate means it's been off the road for at least a few months at some point in the recent past.

Interesting to see what a magazine of the time thought of my Camry. Also useful to see a description of what bits make up the Sport suspension package, including the V6 dampers.
DVLA says P306APC was last taxed only last year, but now unlicensed.
Another drugstore diecast; I can only claim credit for the trim around the side windows. I never thought I'd see one of these represented in scale...
The Monogram 1/32 '79 Mailbu is in the background to give a sense of size- just as in 1:1 the Camry is taller but very slightly shorter and narrower.
Built to take on such cars as the BMW 5 series, the Toyota Camry went through constant and frequent development, this car being of the 3rd Generation since the car had been unveiled in 1979.
