The afternoon sun shines across Andrew Molera State Park.

Landed in San Francisco on Saturday the 23rd. Got the rental car after waiting in line for 2 hrs . I guess Budget is too busy during the holidays cos they are cheap...either way ..it cost me the sunset...raced to catch the sunset over the Golden Gate bridge...was a little late getting there. I think looking back ..that has been the story of the trip..chasing sunsets and sunrises.

This is one of the shots i took when i got there. Taken from the Crissy Fields area in SF.

Back in SF for the last couple of days. After taking the usual 'must take' shots of the golden gate bridge, hung out in the city. This is another one of the postcard shots of SF..the row of Victorian houses at Alamo Square also called 'The Painted Ladies' or 'Postcard Row'. Wanted to get here earlier to catch the magic light but was late as usual.

One thing i did learn was that parallel parking on these steep streets is a royal pain in the ass.

After getting high on nature and its beauty and not hitting an interstate for 5 days ..we finally hit the interstate..and then started the traffic for the next 100 miles all the way to LA proper...it was almost depressing. After spending the afternoon in hollywood and taking the customary shots of Kodak theater and the Hollywood sign and all that nonsense..decided to catch the sunset over Santa Monica beach..and as we drove down on Santa Monica blvd guess what happens.. the famous LA traffic happens.Needless to say the sun was gone by the time i hit the beach..took this while trying to scramble to the beach to get something out of the fast fading light.

And yeah can someone please tell me why taking a picture using a tripod is not allowed at some places for security reasons while u can take the pictures of the same place without a tripod ?? this holds true for NYC subways and the damn area with the ferris wheel on the pier at Santa Monica beach where i was confronted by security who kindly told me - no tripods..and if i wanted to take pictures without one i could sign a form and use the camera..which i politely declined..upon which he announced my name on his walkie talkie crap to all other security personnel mentioning that i shouldnt be allowed to take pictures in the Ferris wheel area. It gets better...after that he politely showed me a spot about 20ft away from the ferris wheel ride entrance and told me that use of tripods was allowed beyond that point. So i smiled politely..set up my tripod..zoomed in and took my shot! All this crap when all i wanted was the standard moving ferris wheel shot!!

uuurrrghhh!!! eefffin morons!

I've been for a walk

on a winter's day

I love the changing colours of autumn, but the grey skys are so drab, so I took this to cheer myself up on a grey day.

Happy Saturday Flickr friends!!! ...(2) uploads today....

I wowed myself this week with this image! :D I promise this photo has no filters or post processing to get this colour!! We've had some unusual weather and clouds lately for this time of the year, so when I saw the clouds roll in... a raced home to get my camera and head to the beach and hoped for the best!! I was pretty happy with what I got... what do you'all think!!!?? ...:D

If anyone has ANY SUGGESTIONS on how to improve this image- please message me ;-)

It was a jaw dropping experience to watch this incredible sunset unfold infront of my eyes in Litte Corona Del Mar Beach. Thanks to the two local surfers that helped me make this the quintessential Southern California beach shot. But I really imagined Hawaiian Shave Ice while I photographed this.... have you ever wanted to lick a sunset? I know it sounds weird but I've never seen a sunset with these colours before :D.....oh and while I am talking about Shave Ice... let me give a shout out for my favourite shave ice joint in the world... www.yelp.com/biz/jo-jos-shave-ice-waimea]

On the Island of Kauai- JoJo's shave ice!!!!

ps. PLEASE don't use this photo without MY EXPRESS PERMISSION ;-)

One year on flickr...

So... it has been a year on flickr and a year of taking photography seriously..looking back..i think i have come a long way..

So a big Thank you all for all of your support! it has been a journey and i have learnt and developed a lot in a year...and it has been a great year as far as my photography goes..so thank you all again!:)

A lone fisherman stands on wet Southern California pier at sunrise. The early light paints the sky in soft hues of orange, pink, and gold, casting shimmering reflections across the deck surface. Salt air mingles with the fresh scent of the ocean, and the rhythmic sound of water lapping against the pilings fills the tranquil morning. With practiced hands, he casts several lines out into the cool Pacific. His silhouette is smartly framed with his fishing rods against the awakening horizon.

Ok now im going to ramble..

This is the famous and much photgraphed tunnel view at Yosemite. It is amazing..the view and the feeling you get from this vista point cannot really be captured by camera..one has to be there to really take it all in.It is a breathtaking and inspiring view. All of Yosemite is just unbelievably gorgeous..after all it was Ansel Adams backyard.

The weather was overcast all day and the light really wasnt good. This was the only time towards the end of the day that the clouds started to clear up and the sun peeked out. On the left of the valley with the last light falling on it is the monstrous granite monolith- The El Capitan..on the right is Bridalveil falls and in between at a distance is Half dome.

There are so many photographs of so many places we look at that wow us....and we feel like going there to visit and when we get there we always get the feeling that it doesnt really look as good as it does in the photographs...I havent really come across many photos of this place that really gave me a sense of how amazing it is looking down from this point.

Also, I think this is the most time i have spent on post processing on any picture ever..and i still cant get it to look the way i want it to look.

I can see a lot of flaws in this but i have run out of patience . I will have to go back there sometime and spend more time at the park and hope that the weather and the elements cooperate. If you want to check out some awesome shots of this place check out this guys website..he has some amazing shots- philhawkinsphoto.com/main.php.

Minutes from getting on the 101 highway (homeward bound), made one last stop, could not believe the view, the home nestled on top of the cliff sits perfectly for that early morning view with a cup of Joe in hand!

After arriving from Newark - Liberty as Redwood 183, "California Dreaming" gets turned around as Redwood 910 to Las Vegas - McCarran.

Shot as part of a magazine roadtrip feature entitled "California Dreaming" I had the pleasure of being handed the keys to this modified Porsche 930 Turbo to drive around the San Francisco Bay area, Marin Headlands and down to Scotts Valley where we would visit the Canepa Design factory and car museum.
