Or can also be known as Bush Thick-knee Curlew.. either way I think they are a gorgeous bird. This one was nesting on a spare block of land between my work place and the next building.

A bottle of Bush de Nuits Cuvée Spéciale 2008 from Brasserie Dubuisson in Pipaix, Belgium.
Bush de Nuits (known as Scaldis Prestige de Nuits in the USA) is a 13% abv Belgian strong ale that was aged for 6 months in oak barrels, formerly used for aging wine in the Nuits-Saint-Georges wine district of Burgundy, France.
It poured a hazy amber color with a thin, white head. It smelled faintly of oak but with a sweet, fruity character. Mouthfeel was full bodied with a flat, oily texture. The flavor had a nice, rounded sweetness with notes of ripe fruits and vinous oak. Smooth and rich, a great sipping beer.

Part of "Arlington West" in Santa Barbara. Volunteers put up, tend and take down over 3000 crosses signifying the US Military war dead in Iraq, every Sunday. OF course the number of US Military war dead (not to mention other US citizen deaths such as Daniel Pearl, or the many more dead from other countries) is over 4100, and the number maimed and traumatized far more than that.
Series: Entropic Inexorability
The series illustrates the relationship between plans and rules (e.g., construction, relationships, urban planning, laws) on one hand, and the immediate challenge that any such plan or achievement faces from entropy and decay (e.g., rust, unforeseen circumstances, people outside the relationship, exceptions) on the other.
A blackberry bush we discovered in one of my wife's flower gardens. We plan on transplanting the berry bush.

A smaller bush fire was burning its way through the Northern Territory... at an amazing speed. Keep in mind that it can be as fast as the wind.
Another view of the Arnolfini building, for comparison with the one posted a couple of days ago by Dave Reynolds. This was taken on Saturday 3rd March 1973. The sign on the building reads J. & R. Bush. It had always been known as "Bush's warehouse", although I am not sure whether it had been owned by this firm since it was new. It is a noteworthy example of the unique commercial style known as "Bristol Byzantine". Many examples were destroyed by the Luftwaffe and many more, a little later, by the City Council. Happily the style's most elaborate example, the Granary in Welsh Back, still survives. Bush's warehouse became the Arnolfini in October 1975.
Before the bus station was constructed in 1958, Prince Street, beyond the bridge, was the terminus of bus services from outside the city, a use for which its considerable width made it ideally suited.
