An old icon I designed in 2004 of George W. Bush beside a new icon I designed of Barack Obama in 2009. Could also be described as Fear vs. Hope or a host of other contrasts. This is less a political statement than it is an observation of the global mood. It is easy to vilify Bush since his work is in the past. It is also easy to glorify Obama when he has yet to prove himself.

A glass of Bush Prestige from Brasserie Dubuisson in Pipaix, Belgium.
Bush Prestige, known as Scaldis Prestige in the US, is a 13% abv Belgian strong ale aged for 6 months in oak barrels to smoothen the sweetness (bottle photo here).
The beer poured a hazy orange brown color with a bubbly, beige head. It sported a nice wort like sweet aroma, with notes of honey, candy sugar and a light oxidized "dry leaf" note. The mouthfeel was full bodied with a mild carbonation. The flavor started out with a good maltiness, ripe berries and mild candy sugar, before ending with a mild sour note which felt refreshing after all the malt.
Despite the oxidized note in the aroma, this beer was true pleasure; well balanced, rich, sweet but also refreshing to drink. Highly recommended!
"Since 1967, Israel has been a Herrenvolk democracy, a term used to describe South Africa under apartheid, in which one group of subjects, the Israeli citizens, enjoys full rights while a disenfranchised group, the Palestinians, enjoys none of any significance."
Known as Bush banana, Doubah, Native pear or Silky pear, the bush banana is a climbing woody vine found growing on other shrubs and trees, and often difficult to see among the trees own leaves.
The bush banana has creamy flowers, and thick narrow leaves that grow from a short stalk. The fruiting pod is pear-shaped, hence its other common names.
An important Aboriginal food, the sweet flower and young fruits are eaten raw, being the most favoured parts of the plant.
