Ragusa (Italian: [raˈɡuːza] Sicilian: Rausa; Latin: Ragusia) is a city and comune in southern Italy.

In the middle of Lyon, we both waited, the streetcar driver in the streetcar opposite until the time was ready to continue her journey to the next stop. And I waited at "my" stop until a streetcar driver stops his vehicle and takes me to my next stop.

As it looks, we both spent the time with cell phone in hand. What she read I do not know, I took pictures with mine :-)

Thanks for your criticism and as always, favs, likes and comments are gratefully appreciated!

It was eventually reassembled at 16711 West Dixie Highway, North Miami Beach, Florida, where it is now an Episcopal church and tourist attraction called Ancient Spanish Monastery. It is the oldest European-built structure in the Western Hemisphere.

The Dancing House (Czech: Tančící dům), or Ginger and Fred, is the nickname given to the Nationale-Nederlanden building on the Rašínovo nábřeží (Rašín Embankment) in Prague, Czech Republic.

With its construction beginning in 1881, it was being built for prince Semyon Vorontsov based on the blueprints of a talented architect Etienne Bouchard. Bouchard had planned an original building in the style of French castles at the time of Louis XIII. The palace was even called a ‘Little Versailles.’ The construction was stopped, however, only a year in because of the prince’s death.

Construction resumed only in 1889, when the family of Russian emperor Alexander III purchased the building. Architect Maximilian Mesmaher maintained the size and general style of the building, but he substantially changed its look with new decorations; in effect, he transformed a knight’s castle into a wonderful palace.

In Soviet times, the castle was turned into a sanatorium called ‘Proletarian Health,’ used by those who were seriously ill with tuberculosis. In post-WWII years, it became officials’ summer residence: Stalin, Khrushchev, and Brezhnev all stayed here. Only in 1992, a museum dedicated to Alexander III was created on the first two floors. In its collection there are many unique items: chandeliers, a fireplace of brown marble, mahogany furniture, mirrors, and more.

Lake Bled

Taken of the island with the church on lake bled. Not bad considering I was also rowing a small boat single handed (my crew abandoned ship in favour of a swim back to the mainland). I had begun by desperately trying to steer myself in the right direction to attempt a shot but failed miserably and finally managed to scrape together a panoramic as shown by peering over my shoulder while carefully balancing in order to prevent my boat becoming a submarine.

The Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano ("Venerable Factory of the Duomo of Milan") is a 600-year-old organization that was established to supervise the construction of the Cathedral of Milan (the "Duomo"). The organization is still active and involved with the maintenance, preservation, and restoration of the cathedral. Its main headquarters are located in the eponymous palace in Piazza del Duomo. Despite the Duomo being a consecrated Roman Catholic church, the Venerable Factory is completely independent of the Holy See. Giuseppe Vandoni completed the work in 1865, crowning it with an impressive central clock, on which statues of day and night were installed nearby. The first, depicting a young woman who with one hand covers her face from the sun, the second is a halfa-sleep woman.

Hurricane Irma did considerable damage in Cuba in 2017. But because they have mainly soild well built structures and a comprehensive, all-hands-on-deck national program of disaster preparation, evacuation, relief, and recovery that involves virtually every citizen, from the national to the local levels loss of life is rare.

The Janike-khanym mausoleum is an almost completely preserved mausoleum of the 15th century. - a fine example of "Seljuk" architecture. It is a monumental octagonal structure under a tiled roof, decorated with carved columns along the edges of the edges. It is adjoined by a carved portal with a massive arch, and an Arabic calligraphic inscription is carved at the entrance: these are hadith texts, in which, among other things, there are the words "This world is a dwelling of vanity, but the future life is eternal." In the depths of the mausoleum, on a stepped elevation, one can see a tombstone decorated with an elegant, like ornament, Arabic inscription: "This is the tomb of the great empress Janike-khanym, daughter of Tokhtamysh-khan, who died in the month of Ramadan in 841 (1437)."

Main entrance to Jameh Mosque, the grand, congregational mosque of Yazd city, in Yazd province of Iran.

Built in 12th century, Jameh mosque is a fine specimen of the Azari style of Persian architecture. The mosque is crowned by a pair of minarets, the highest in Iran, and the portal's facade is decorated from top to bottom in dazzling tile work, predominantly blue in colour. Within is a long arcaded courtyard where, behind a deep-set south-east iwan, is a sanctuary chamber (shabestan). This chamber, under a squat tiled dome, is exquisitely decorated with faience mosaic: its tall faience Mihrab, dated 1365, is one of the finest of its kind in existence..

The mosque is depicted on the reverse of the Iranian 200 rials banknote.

Perfect Sunday afternoon. After a walk to the beach and castle we built structures with Magna-Tiles and played Fuzzy Felt farm, on the rug in front of the log fire before she started jumping up and down on top of me as I lay on the carpet. I grabbed my camera for some extremely informal portrait shots. My (almost) three year old granddaughter, one of 7 grandchildren who are the apple of my eye

The Palazzo Galloni is a vast and complex building. It was the residence of a wealthy bourgeois family of the 17th century. The main building, set aside from the embankment, is preceded by a low building, previously used as a warehouse for activities related to navigation in Naviglio. This is a simple tiled roof, supported by five large arches, of which one in the center leads to the courtyard. The other four large gates through which the carts of vegetables passed were walled up today and fragmented by small doors, balconies and windows.
