Photographed somewhere in the Faroe Islands, this scene pulled me in because of its natural flow. The rugged stone hut in the foreground anchors the image, guiding your eye toward the white church in the valley, and then even further into the dramatic mountains beyond.
If you look closely, there's a tiny boat floating quietly in the fjord—barely noticeable, but it adds that final touch of depth and story. The soft, moody light layered perfectly with the landscape's raw textures: rusted roofs, green ridges, and steep basalt cliffs.
Shot with a mild telephoto to compress the perspective and highlight the visual rhythm across the frame. One of those moments where everything simply clicked.

Very typical of the small villages and towns in Mallorca are the narrow streets. Not enough that the houses are built close together, leaving little space for the alleys and streets between them. Mostly on one side of the street is parked one car after another. This makes maneuvering through the small towns not quite easy for the inexperienced, not to mention the orientation with the many one-way streets....but sometimes you are lucky and catch an alley completely without cars and people.

On strategically so important place towers Trentino’s largest fortress, referred to as Castel Beseno. First written documents date back to the 12th century, when the castle still belonged to the counts of Appiano and served as a residence to the aristocratic family Da Beseno. In the following years and centuries, the castle witnessed a rather turbulent history. In 1470 it was handed over to the counts Trapp, a noble family from Styria affiliated with the Austrian emperor. Soon the castle had to be rennovated due to a fire and the medieval castle turned into a residence. Threatened by decay, the castle was given to the Province of Trento, rennovated and made a remote seat of the Castello del Buonconsiglio Museum. Two mighty elliptical walls featuring a length of 250 and a width of 55 metres surround the castle. Worth seeing are also the dark castle gate, the drawbridge, the crenels and the arena.

El Palacio de la Clavería o Palacio del Norte se encuentra en la villa ciudadrealeña de Aldea del Rey, en el Campo de Calatrava. El palacio fue construido como residencia del clavero de la Orden de Calatrava, que era una de la cuatro máximas dignidades de la orden. Fue mandado construir en el siglo XVI por Felipe II tras sacar a Aldea del Rey de Mesa Maestral y agregarla a la Dignidad de la Clavería. Fue declarado Bien de Interés Cultural en 1992, catalogado como edificio renacentista del siglo XVI con elementos del siglo XVII. Tras encontrarse en estado ruinoso, a principios de 2010 se realizaron tareas de consolidación del edificio, con objeto de evitar la ruina total, y de la realización de un proyecto de restauración, que aún se lleva a cabo. Servía como lugar de oración para los viajeros que salían del pueblo y para albergar imágenes de la Pasión del Redentor, especialmente utilizadas durante los oficios de Semana Santa.

Much like traditional homes, even churches in the Faroes can have turf roofs. This one happens to be in Skálavík, a small village of less than 200 on the eastern coast of Sandoy. The town is home to a couple of famous Faroese authors, although honestly, famous by Faroese stands is unknown by global standards. The church itself was built way back in 1891.
There's not a ton of villages to see on Sandoy. Within a span of about 20 minutes you can drive from the ferry port in Skopun, through Magn, and into Skalavik. Of course, add some time to walk around a bit, but overall, that's like half the island. Add in time to drive to a couple more remote villages if you like, and you have yourself a nice little day trip.

In the evening, even around the Louvre sometimes a bit of silence returns, after the long days when thousands of visitors visit the world-famous museum. So there is time and peace to look at the wonderfully illuminated historic buildings, enjoy and ponder what these walls would have already seen and experienced. What exciting stories that would be!
