There are various ways to connect building complexes. The architects of the airport in Zurich have found a great one. The underground tunnel features exciting architecture with light elements and is wide and functional at the same time.

The medieval fortress of today is considered to be built between 1211 and 1225, during the rule of the Teutonic Knights on a rocky hill, elevated at about 150m above Rosenau village and surrounded by mountains.
Just as you enter the courtyard, you'll see a 146 metres (479 ft) deep well, was dug out between 1623 and 1642 by two turk prisoners in exchange for their freedom. The water allowed the inhabitants of the fortress to fully close the gates in times of war and not depend on the outside villages. So Rosenau Fortress gained its fame as unconquerable.

Churches and cathedrals impress again and again. The craftsmanship with which these structures were built hundreds of years ago is fascinating. And when the sun shares my opinion as here in the Basler Münster and shines through the window, the mystical atmosphere is perfect.
The original cathedral was built between 1019 and 1500 in Romanesque and Gothic styles. The late Romanesque building, destroyed by the 1356 Basel earthquake, was rebuilt. It's one of the main landmarks and tourist attractions of Basel, it adds definition to the cityscape with its red sandstone architecture and coloured roof tiles, its two slim towers and the cross-shaped intersection of the main roof.

Stately and sublime from the outside, beautifully and magnificently designed inside...this is the cathedral in St. Gallen, which together with other buildings has been a Unesco World Heritage Site since 1983. Whether you are interested in the history or just want to admire the beauty, it is worth a visit.
So whenever you are in St. Gallen, make sure to step into the cathedral and admire it in all its glory. And especially the craftsmanship of the builders.

Another must-see place in Mallorca (along with thousands of other tourists): Valldemossa! A very pretty town in the center of which it almost feels a little like Disneyworld.....and I love Disneyworld. But if you plan your visit towards the end of the day and you're not too tired or lazy to take a few steps further than just walking from the parking lot into the first few alleys, you'll find quiet winding streets and places that for me are the charm of the place.

Ba Na Hills resort is located nearly 1,500 meters above sea level and roughly half an hour west of the central Vietnamese city of Da Nang.
Ba Na Hills resort was discovered by the French in the late nineteenth century. They have built here many large villas, sports grounds and a range of restaurants. For nearly a century, war and time have made this place gradually desolate. Yet, since the end of the twentieth century, Ba Na Hills has been woken up with the efforts of local authorities and people there. This scenic area is being upgraded and expanded.

The Staircase
La escalera, subir o bajar por ella es un privilegio en sí mismo.
The ladder, going up or down it is a privilege in itself.
On out way to dinner in Augsburg I turned around a saw the low sun behind us. I had not much time, so I just took my camera, made sure no tram was arriving, hunched down and took the picture.
With the Sony A7m3 it's always a bit guessing, since the screen can't be flipped. This time my guessing was quite accurate. :-)
