There are various ways to connect building complexes. The architects of the airport in Zurich have found a great one. The underground tunnel features exciting architecture with light elements and is wide and functional at the same time.

Churches and cathedrals impress again and again. The craftsmanship with which these structures were built hundreds of years ago is fascinating. And when the sun shares my opinion as here in the Basler Münster and shines through the window, the mystical atmosphere is perfect.

The original cathedral was built between 1019 and 1500 in Romanesque and Gothic styles. The late Romanesque building, destroyed by the 1356 Basel earthquake, was rebuilt. It's one of the main landmarks and tourist attractions of Basel, it adds definition to the cityscape with its red sandstone architecture and coloured roof tiles, its two slim towers and the cross-shaped intersection of the main roof.

Castel del Monte is a 13th-century citadel and castle situated on a hill in Andria. It was built during the 1240s by the Emperor Frederick II, who had inherited the lands from his mother Constance of Sicily. In the 18th century, the castle's interior marbles and remaining furnishings were removed.

he had very loud music. I think they turned off the lights in the street to stop people from entering.

The classic yellow tram 49, which glides across the Liberty Bridge past historic buildings, bustling streets and the sparkling Danube, transports passengers through the city’s rich cultural and beautiful layers. Whether at sunrise or dusk, this iconic journey is a beloved part of everyday life and the perfect way for visitors to experience the soul of Budapest, with one stop at a time.

Another must-see place in Mallorca (along with thousands of other tourists): Valldemossa! A very pretty town in the center of which it almost feels a little like Disneyworld.....and I love Disneyworld. But if you plan your visit towards the end of the day and you're not too tired or lazy to take a few steps further than just walking from the parking lot into the first few alleys, you'll find quiet winding streets and places that for me are the charm of the place.

LEÇA DA PALMEIRA (Portugal):

Ba Na Hills resort is located nearly 1,500 meters above sea level and roughly half an hour west of the central Vietnamese city of Da Nang.

Ba Na Hills resort was discovered by the French in the late nineteenth century. They have built here many large villas, sports grounds and a range of restaurants. For nearly a century, war and time have made this place gradually desolate. Yet, since the end of the twentieth century, Ba Na Hills has been woken up with the efforts of local authorities and people there. This scenic area is being upgraded and expanded.

On out way to dinner in Augsburg I turned around a saw the low sun behind us. I had not much time, so I just took my camera, made sure no tram was arriving, hunched down and took the picture.

With the Sony A7m3 it's always a bit guessing, since the screen can't be flipped. This time my guessing was quite accurate. :-)

Elevation

4,200 feet at the shore. Frary Peak is the island’s highest point at 6,596 feet.

History

John C. Fremont and Kit Carson made the first known Anglo exploration of Antelope Island in 1845. The Island was named after the explorers observed several pronghorn antelope grazing on the rangelands.

Fielding Garr established the first permanent residence on the island in 1848. The ranch house he built is the oldest Anglo-built structure in Utah still on its original foundation.

The island and ranch passed from owner to owner until 1981 when the State of Utah purchased the 28,000-ace island for a State Park.

Geology

Antelope Island is part of what is known as the Basin and Range, stretching from the Wasatch mountains on the east to the Sierra Nevada mountain range on the west. Antelope Island is the largest island on Great Salt Lake at just over 28,000 acres, stretching 15 miles long and about 5 miles wide.

The oldest exposed rocks on the island are from the Farmington Canyon Complex, called gneiss. These metamorphic rocks have been dated to 1.7 billion years old, and are the same age as rocks found at the bottom of the Grand Canyon. These rocks can be seen on the southern two-thirds of the island.

Tintic Quartzite, found on the northern one-third of the island, is 550 million years old and was deposited in a shallow marine environment. This metamorphic rock can be seen around the Park’s visitor center, Lady Finger Point and Buffalo Point.

The youngest rocks on the island are tufa, a sedimentary rock deposited from concentrations of calcium carbonate during the time of Lake Bonneville. Tufa deposits typically resemble concrete and can be viewed from the Buffalo Point Trail.

Wildlife

Although surrounded by saltwater, Antelope Island has over 40 freshwater springs producing enough water to support the island’s abundant wildlife.

Bison are the most famous residents. Twelve animals were brought to the island in 1893 and were the foundation for today’s herd of 550 – 700. An annual bison roundup is held each fall to assess the health of the herd and sell extra animals.

Pronghorn antelope are native to Utah and to the island. These small, deer-like animals are the fastest animals in North America and can reach speeds of up to 70 miles per hour.

Mule deer and bighorn sheep are the other large herbivores on the island. Predators include coyotes, badgers, bobcats, and numerous birds of prey such as owls, hawks and falcons.

The Staircase

La escalera, subir o bajar por ella es un privilegio en sí mismo.

The ladder, going up or down it is a privilege in itself.

The temple is said to enshrine a relic of the Buddha. Such relics are typically bones and ashes believed to be gathered after the Buddha's cremation. The relic is installed in the main chedi of the temple.
