New York City - December 21, 2022: Candy cane Christmas decorations on the 58th Street side of the Solow Building, also known as 9 West 57th Street. The Solow Building, west of Fifth Avenue between 57th and 58th Streets, was completed in 1974 and designed by Gordon Bunshaft of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill.

a cavernous hall that whispers tales of decay and long-forgotten echoes. This panorama, oh it stretches like a yawning abyss, daring the onlooker to step into its grim embrace. The wooden bones of this architectural cadaver sprawl under the weight of time, a skeleton of a once bustling hive of human activity.

Now, let's talk about the composition, my fiendish friends. The panoramic view, it's like a widescreen lens into a post-apocalyptic ballroom, where the dance of dust and shadow pirouettes across the floor. Notice the columns, standing like silent sentinels, guardians of history and hoarders of secrets.

The lighting, it drips from the ceiling like the last vestiges of hope, fighting a losing battle against the encroaching darkness. It's a masterclass in the use of natural light, casting a spectral glow that breathes a ghostly life into the scene.

The perspective is downright diabolical. It draws you in, doesn't it? Like a siren's call or the final act of a horror show, it's the spot where the final showdown would happen in the most thrilling of thrillers.

And those cables, snaking across the floor, they're like the tendrils of some unseen beast, or the remnants of a mechanical monster that once roared and hissed through this desolate chamber.

This is not just a photograph; it's a doorway to a narrative, a frozen moment between what was and what will never be again. It's a visual requiem, my friends, a hauntingly beautiful tribute to the relentless march of time and the stories that are left behind in its wake. Bravo to the maestro behind the lens, for you've captured not just an image, but the very essence of desolation and the beauty that lies within it.

The Toorji Ka Jhalra was constructed in the 1740s by the queen-consort of Maharaja Abhay Singh, and features detailed sandstone carvings. Notably, the Jodhpur Stepwell had been buried for years and only recently underwent a restoration to return it to its former glory. The primary function of the structure was to provide a reliable water source during the dry seasons. It also served as a communal gathering point and still does.

Puente medieval en Manresa

Criss-cross the walk went through Paris! And again and again I am magically attracted to churches. Not only for a silent prayer and lighting a candle, but because behind the facades often hide works of art. That was not enough on this day, the sun also sent its rays through the windows at the perfect moment.

The architectural highlight of Messe Basel is this building by Herzog and de Meuron. Particularly spectacular is the facade and the round opening, under which there is a bus stop for the Basler Verkehrsbetriebe ... unique and a must for fans of architecture and photography.

Budapest, Hungary

Perched high on a rocky cliff, the lighthouse lights the way in stormy weather and at night, alerting sailors to the danger of the nearby shore. As dramatic as this can be on a stormy night, the scene is peaceful and unspectacular in the warm light of the summer sun.

Lyon is not quite so flat, although many sights are easily accessible on foot and without major climbs, but for one or the other view is still a hill to climb. Or you take the bus, but then miss every now and then a view over the city. These make the climb worthwhile.

Like here after a long and steep staircase the view over the city and the Cathédrale Saint-Jean-Baptiste.

The Suspension Bridge was built by the French company Claranges Lucotte and Co., and opened to the public in 1843 to fill a need for a permanent bridge between Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia, replacing the Bridge of Boats. It was said that the bridge, which was officially known as the D. Maria II Bridge, trembled like a reed, and it was this lack of safety that dictated its short 44 years of existence. It had been quickly built because of large floods in Porto that rendered the old Bridge of Boats inoperable. It was deactivated in 1887 and replaced by the D. Luis I Bridge. The two stone obelisk shaped pillars are all that remains of the historic crossing.

Time and again, you can catch a glimpse of the beautiful blue sea between the façades in the alleys of the villages on the coast of Mallorca. In summer, however, the residents of the houses prefer to do without the view and close the shutters to keep the heat out and the cooler air in.

The Governor’s House was erected on the Volga embankment at the order of the Emperor Alexander I; it served as a residence for the governor and the en route imperial palace. All Russian emperors from Alexander I to Nikolay II visited Yaroslavl and lived in the house. Since 1970 the Governor’s House serves as the main building of the Yaroslavl Art Museum
