Silver City Ghost Town – located an hour southwest of Boise, Idaho - is one of several mining towns that sprang up in the Owyhee Mountains after gold was discovered nearby in 1863. At its height in the 1880’s, Silver City grew into a prominent Idaho settlement, with a population of around 2,500 and approximately 75 businesses. The town even established the first daily Idaho newspaper and telegraph office. As mines became depleted around 1890, residents slowly moved away from Silver City. The last mining operation closed around World War II, although the town was never completely abandoned.
In 1972, the Idaho Hotel in Silver City was restored and re-opened. Now, visitors can enjoy partially-restored historical buildings and old mine sites. Home and building owners have title to the land directly beneath the structures, but the rest of this National Historic District is public land, managed by the BLM.

The Lamborghini Museum in Sant'Agata Bolognese is an extension of their factory housing a number of company owned vehicles.
Fierce rivals with Ferrari, Lamborghini have a similarly proud and rich history with many of their designs still head turners today.
Miura in my garage, anytime!

My bucket list.......
There are so many things on my bucket list that I want to do. Traveling, seeing sights, learning new things, making a difference, etc, etc.
The biggest thing on my bucket list though.....get married.
I want to be a part of something amazing. I want to develop a connection with someone more than just "hi, how was your week? Do anything fun? That's nice, Bye".
Right now though, this one particular item keeps eluding me. Its the one thing I can't do on my own. I can't make someone love me, I can't make someone want to be with me.
So for now, it's on my bucket list. I'm hoping someday I can cross it off.

Lecco was home base during my trip to the Monza Formula 1 Grand Prix. About 30 minutes away from the track it was not too far, but gave you a feeling of being on holiday.
A lovely town with the lake and mountains as a backdrop, wonderful town square & great food.

Foto-Buddies Project 52, Week#37: Composition - Rule of Odd Numbers
The next task in my Project 52 "Composition" series is the rule of odd numbers.
Even though the goal of this task is pretty simple (i.e., frame your pictures with odd numbered objects), I had the hardest time coming up with a decent shot. I tried taking pictures of ponkanitos, Christmas tree balls, bells, flowers & push pins, but none of the shots worked. Then I remembered an element of design, color! And considering our current obsession for Lego blocks, I thought I'd take a shot of my niece's Mega Bloks and feature the primary colors, blue, red and yellow. With my x10's "Pop Color" advance feature, I knew I could get a vibrant shot OOC. But it was still challenging getting the bare background, lighting and symmetry right.

April #conservationlands15 #bucketlist: Bodie Hills, California, for Wildflowers, Wildlife and One-of-a-Kind Ghost Town!
California’s Eastern Sierra region is a dramatic transition zone between the snowcapped granite spires of the Sierra Nevada and the endless sagebrush covered uplands of the Great Basin. A visit at the right time of year will reward visitors with a diversity of wildflowers.
One great wildflower viewing area is just north of Mono Lake and east of Yosemite in the rolling Bodie Hills – hills being an understatement since they top out at over 10,000 feet! Because of their high elevation, wildflower blooms are later here than much of California – typically arriving in May-June on the lower slopes and into July on the highest peaks. Several back roads traverse the area and offer access to view the displays of phlox, penstemmon, and paintbrush to name a few of the many wildflower species. More than 100,000 acres of BLM lands cover most of the Bodie Hills and include several wilderness study areas.
This year’s bloom promises to be early and short due to the dry winter across much of California. However, even if you miss the peak bloom, there is no shortage of things to see in the area. Bodie State Park is the site of the best-preserved ghost town in California, and arguably in the U. S. Wildlife viewers can see antelope, mule deer, and if lucky, get a glimpse of a sage grouse. If you visit later, around early October, crisp clear nights will turn the scattered aspen stands to gold, giving a second opportunity to see the Bodie Hills in color.

For Flickr Group Roulette: Bucket List. Hmmmmm, a 117-day cruise around the damn world? We'll take it!!
Another top photo taken on our charter yesterday - buy a Gift Voucher for yourself for Christmas and come and join Calypso Star Charters - the only one day shark cage dive in Australia that is Eco Certified with 4 Eco Certified Guides plus a Licence to Burley which is what keeps the sharks around our boat - come and join us.
Nice, Monaco, Menton, Sanremo, Imperia - the road follows the coast from France into Italy. It's one of those drives you ideally do with a few weeks up your sleeve to soak up each town, village and port.
I drove up through the middle of Italy from the coast to eventually arrive at Lake Garda, the largest inland lake in Italy.

One day, I hope to get a shot of the aura borealis. I find it to be somewhat challenging since several conditions need to be just right, including no clouds, no moon, nice weather, cooperation from the sun, and a decent location that lets you look at the northern skies. Not to mention that we would most likely be doing this in the middle of the night, and we like our sleep. ☺️ My husband suggested that we scout out a couple local lakes this afternoon. Not sure if this spot will work out, but I thought it was a pretty location. This is a panoramic shot.
