From Wiki:
Tower Bridge is a combined bascule and suspension bridge in London built between 1886 and 1894. The bridge crosses the River Thames close to the Tower of London and has become an iconic symbol of London. Because of this, Tower Bridge is sometimes confused with London Bridge, situated some 0.5 mi (0.80 km) upstream. Tower Bridge is one of five London bridges now owned and maintained by the Bridge House Estates, a charitable trust overseen by the City of London Corporation. It is the only one of the Trust's bridges not to connect the City of London directly to the Southwark bank, as its northern landfall is in Tower Hamlets.
The bridge consists of two bridge towers tied together at the upper level by two horizontal walkways, designed to withstand the horizontal tension forces exerted by the suspended sections of the bridge on the landward sides of the towers. The vertical components of the forces in the suspended sections and the vertical reactions of the two walkways are carried by the two robust towers. The bascule pivots and operating machinery are housed in the base of each tower. Before its restoration in the 2010s, the bridge's colour scheme dated from 1977, when it was painted red, white and blue for Queen Elizabeth II's Silver Jubilee. Its colours were subsequently restored to blue and white.
The bridge deck is freely accessible to both vehicles and pedestrians, whereas the bridge's twin towers, high-level walkways and Victorian engine rooms form part of the Tower Bridge Exhibition, for which an admission charge is made. The nearest London Underground tube stations are Tower Hill on the Circle and District lines, London Bridge on the Jubilee and Northern lines and Bermondsey on the Jubilee line, and the nearest Docklands Light Railway station is Tower Gateway. The nearest National Rail stations are at Fenchurch Street and London Bridge.

In NYC this is my favourite bridge the Queensboro Bridge it is a cantilever bridge which connects Queens with Manhattan passing over the top of Roosevelt Island.
I love the metal work of the bridge it has a really interesting mesh look to it. The bridge supports cars trains and pedestrians it has different levels for all of these type of travellers.
Here is some infomation about the bridge from Wikipedia
The Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge, also known as the 59th Street Bridge – because its Manhattan end is located between 59th and 60th Streets – or simply the Queensboro Bridge, is a cantilever bridge over the East River in New York City that was completed in 1909. It connects the neighborhood of Long Island City in the borough of Queens with Manhattan, passing over Roosevelt Island. It carries New York State Route 25 and is the westernmost of the four East River spans that carry a route number: NY 25 terminates at the west (Manhattan) side of the bridge, which once carried NY 24 andNY 25A as well. The bridge is flanked on its northern side by the freestanding Roosevelt Island Tramway.
In December 2010, the city announced that the bridge would be renamed in honor of former Mayor Ed Koch from the Queensboro Bridge to the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge. The renaming decision was unpopular among Queens residents and business leaders, and many locals continue to refer to the bridge by its older name

. . . Once again I am amazed how variable the fall colors are! I was expecting a lot of color just one mile downstream from my cabin on the Rapid River at Seven Bridges, but all that really stood out was this small Beech tree! No bear tracks found here either, Thank Goodness!
Have a great weekend Facebook, Flickr, and 500px friends!
A bridge from one place to the next,
Stretching across the river's crest,
Connecting shores with sturdy grace,
A path for travelers to embrace.
Wooden planks worn smooth by time,
Carrying footsteps in rhythm and rhyme,
Above the water's gentle flow,
A silent witness to all who go.
From dawn's first light to dusk's last sigh,
The bridge stands tall against the sky,
A symbol of unity and hope,
Guiding wanderers along life's scope.
So step upon its weathered boards,
And leave behind the world's discord,
For on this bridge, all souls find rest,
A passage to peace, a journey blessed.
Another point of view from my previous shot of this bridge as you can see below !

Bridge over the Main River in Bavaria, Germany
The Sotra Bridge (Norwegian: Sotrabrua) is a suspension bridge which crosses Knarreviksundet between Knarrevik in Fjell and Drotningsvik on the mainland of Bergen in Hordaland, Norway. It carries two road lanes and two narrow pedestrian paths of National Road 555, providing a fixed link for the archipelago of Sotra. The bridge is 1,236 metres (4,055 ft) long, has a main span of 468 metres (1,535 ft) and a clearance of 50 metres (160 ft). In 2007, it had an average 25,494 vehicles per day.
The bridge was brought into use on 11 December 1971, although not officially opened until 1972. It cost 40 million Norwegian krone (NOK) to build, of which NOK 23.5 million was paid for with tolls, which were collected until 1983. When it opened, it was the longest suspension bridge in Norway, but is now the seventh longest. There exist plans to build a second bridge to either expand the road to four lanes, or carry a proposed extension of the Bergen Light Rail. Alternatively, a subsea tunnel could be built to carry a motorway.
Dragons’ bridge was built in the beginning of the 20th century, when Ljubljana was part of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. It is one of the best examples of reinforced concrete bridges and of the Vienna Secession style.
