Some people say this is the most beautiful bridge in the world. Well... I have to agree. I wouldn't miss the opportunity of capturing this scenery. I hope you enjoy!
A grade II listed structure, the Tees Newport Bridge was originally constructed in 1934 and was designed to lift up to allow boats to pass through on the River Tees underneath. To celebrate its 80th birthday it recently had a repaint in its original grey and red colours, not that you may see them in this photograph as it also had a new LED lighting system installed which allows it to be lit up in an array of colours.
With all of the steel and its hulking presence it is almost reminiscent of something out of a space sci-fi movie.
As a photographer this is what appeals to me about this image: The patterns in the girders, the rainbow colours running down the sides of the uprights and the patterns the shadows make on some of the blue beams.
. . . Once again I am amazed how variable the fall colors are! I was expecting a lot of color just one mile downstream from my cabin on the Rapid River at Seven Bridges, but all that really stood out was this small Beech tree! No bear tracks found here either, Thank Goodness!
Have a great weekend Facebook, Flickr, and 500px friends!

A bridge from one place to the next,
Stretching across the river's crest,
Connecting shores with sturdy grace,
A path for travelers to embrace.
Wooden planks worn smooth by time,
Carrying footsteps in rhythm and rhyme,
Above the water's gentle flow,
A silent witness to all who go.
From dawn's first light to dusk's last sigh,
The bridge stands tall against the sky,
A symbol of unity and hope,
Guiding wanderers along life's scope.
So step upon its weathered boards,
And leave behind the world's discord,
For on this bridge, all souls find rest,
A passage to peace, a journey blessed.
I've been to London, but I didn't see the Queen. I can't believe it's been 18 years since I was there.
Another view of the Willamette River and the I-5 bridge that goes over it. This was taken along the hiking/biking trail that goes along the river between Eugene and Springfield, Oregon.
Three Bridges visible in this image cross the East-River; the Williamsburg Bridge, The Manhattan Bridge and the Brooklyn Bridge in the foreground.

Designed by John Gwynn an architect from Shrewsbury
Construction began in 1769 and finished in 1781 at a cost of £30,000. The bridge has been rebuilt quite a few times since. In 1932 it was reopened by HRH Edward, Prince of Wales after a complete reconstruction.

Müngsten Bridge, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
This 120 foot long historic bridge is a rare surviving example of a truss bridge in Michigan. Built in 1930, the design is distinguished by its massive steel members and Parker pony truss configuration.
Looking close, you can see the new bridge in the background slightly above and beyond the old bridge. These bridges are located on Highway 65 just downstream from the Five Channels Dam west of Oscoda, Michigan.
Developed with Darktable 4.8.0.
Recently I studied the work of Werner Mantz who predates the New Topographics photographers back to the 1920's. His approach toward image making was quite similar to the NT movement of the 1970's, but more towards 'art'.

In post editing I tried to emulate his development style and lean to a warmer monochrome with heavier shadows. An analog shot with a modest yellow/green filter would have brought out the clouds better and made a much nicer image.
The reason I decided not to stand directly in the center of the road was because I did not want the emphasis to be on perspective, but rather the form of the bridge.
