This box canyon on top of Mt Revelstoke in Revelstoek, BC, will keep snow and ice all year round. The mountain receives 40 to 60 feet of snow each year. This photo was taken in late July and it show still plenty of snow left in here.
We have a couple of neighbours that always make us something homemade at Christmas. Sometimes it's food like home made breads, or Italian almond cookies. Last year Sean got a beautiful hand knitted scarf, and I got a wooden birdhouse! (very thoughtful), so this year they are getting one of these boxes of cupcakes with a Christmas Tree ornament on top!

Yes, I drank virtually all of it myself. Why I kept the, sometimes very nice, boxes I don't kow. I wasn't consciously collecting them. But when I decided to get rid of a lot of stuff that clutter the rooms in our house I knew these needed to go.
One men's junk is another men's richess though and that's why I placed them on 'Marktplaats' (national Dutch eBay). And of course there was a collector who was more than happy to come and collect them! :-)

An old Longleaf Pine, Pinus palustris, that was "boxed" (tapped for turpentine) decades ago at Weymouth Woods. The tree is not that big around, but it must be quite old, as turpentine harvesting ended long ago. The preserve dates from 1963, but I believe harvesting was ended much earlier. I did not notice this when I took the photo, but it looks like there is still a piece of metal stuck into the trunk--perhaps a remnant of the box? I'll have to ask the ranger.

Something fun and unique! Personally designed delicate cube box that is woven with thinly cut scrap wood. It it used as an accent in my wife's massage therapy room.

Boxed set of repro Velvet Underground 7" singles. 2 piccie covers, lovely box photo, leaflet and postcard. I wish they'd used a bit more artistic license and created picture covers for the remaining singles, but it's a lovely item to have nonetheless

A unique bookwork in a cassette box. Fold-out poster featuring a collection of cover artwork from demo tapes sent to the D.O.R record label. The bands were then located on MySpace, to see how many friends they now have, and indeed if that are still together as a band. Circa A3-sized (one-sided) poster / book laser printed on glossy paper in plastic cassette box.
