Blackpool tram No 31, a so-called Marton Box, climbs towards the Foulbridge stop at Beamish, Living Museum of the North. The vehicle, one of a batch of 15, was built originally as a four-wheel open-topper in 1901 by the Midland Railway Carriage & Wagon Company for use on the Marton route. It was reconfigured by Blackpool Corporation Transport in 1918. The body was lengthened and attached to a new underframe. A cover to the top deck was carried between 1928-34. No 31 has been restored to its 1919 condition as a high-capacity open-topper and and returned to service in 1988. The tramway at Beamish, to which it is on loan, features a one-and-a-half-mile circuit, with three passing loops and a double track section through a recreated townscape.
These electrical distribution boxes are an eyesore in most of Taiwan, but in the Nangang district of Taipei, they look amazing!
Boxes that I made in resin. The master patterns are made in MDF and Cherry wood. I took silicone rubber moulds of the two parts and finished them as china and wood. Top illustrations are laser etched and then hand stained
soft box i made in about 10 minutes. i cut a hole in a shoebox, for my speedlight to fit in, and covered the open end with an old t-shirt. it works on a light stand, and even fits on your camera while attached to the hot shoe. hopefully ill try it out tomorrow
The top of the box shows the set joined with the 10133 BNSF locomotive, but does not have the standard 1:1 part for scale. It does show a couple minifigs though, and since anyone willing to buy this set would have other train sets, that's good enough I suppose.
Observe the size of the box (which I had to go down to the post office to collect). Observe the size of the gadget contained therein, which was sealed in an almost impenetrable plastic thing that had to be hacked apart with a knife. (There was another layer of cardboard involved too.) It's enough to make you vote Green.

Here comes the first box of Kuman New Testaments to be sold. These New
Testaments are usually sold at a low price (less than the cost of
producing the books), not just given away, so that the people attach
value to them. This makes it more likely that they will be read instead
of being used for toilet paper and cigarette wrappers. Some were given
away, though. The local member of parliament bought a box or two of
them, and gave them away to the first comers. A was amazed to see that
those who emerged from the resulting rugby scrum had intact books
instead of scraps.
This is one of a series of photos of the Kuman New Testament dedication
in Kundiawa, Simbu Province, Papua New Guinea, on the 27th day of June
2008. This is the first day these people could get a whole New Testament
in their own language. There are about 950 languages spoken in Papua New
Guinea. Other than the 3 national languages (Melanisian Pidgin, English,
and Hiri Motu), Kuman is the language with the third highest population
of speakers.
Leftover pine that was recycled from a box spring. I wanted to try making boxes into different shapes and designs. Not quite finished with this, because it needs a hinge, or slip fit lid. We'll see.
I was inspired to do this piece of redwork by the beautiful French needlework blogs. The box was quite easy to make. It has ribbons for the hinge, and is decorated with a padded redwork which has an antique pattern.
The sparkles are two bindies which my daughter brought me back from India.
Jon saw this in his work's vending machine, so he got it for me as a surprise gift! Pink! Bunny! Music! It's perfect.
This was one out of ten limited edition winning pack designs by a girl named Claudia from Montréal, QC. Love it! The Smarties inside are supposedly five new colours too... (stay tuned for the colours!)
The side of the Smarties box had this quote: "Your good health comes from a balanced diet, proper nutrition and physical activity." Thanks for the mothering, but I can see through your implication that my good health will come from a box of Smarties. Nice try.
