I made this from a discarded box. You can see how big it is more or less if you compare it to the coffee mug. I used spary paint, acrylic, sharpies, and pens to create this.
I call this kind of box a "Schrodinger's Box" as a reference to the fact that it's made as one large box, and until you slice off the lid, there's just no telling WHAT might be inside... Maybe even Schrodinger's Cat

The dark wood is walnut, the top is quilted maple with a walnut stripe.
so pretty and detailed i've seen them used as DECORATION in various places. how many boxes can you say that for?

Yesterday I bought the cats a new water fountain, but (naturally) they were more interested in the box that it came in!
Spergel Square is a little oasis in the center of Stockholm's very busy shopping district. All of the shops are quite expensive but ,having traveled and visited so many European cities , they really do become boring. It is generally the same pattern with display and most of the goods are the same. Manufactured in Asia and peddled to rich Europeans for vast profits. Sweden is a very socially enlightened society with a great record on social care for its citizens, the Swedish Church projects a very Christian message.
Listening to some musicians perform in Spergel Square, surrounded by all the hustle and bustle of a very modern and well heeled city I was struck by this character who at some stage had decided to throw in the towel and go his own way. He is carrying everything he has on his back and his face displays a rugged and well worn life. I could only imagine the stories he has to tell, if anyone would listen.

For those who saw my earlier photograph of a pregnant cat outside my front door, I thought you might be interested in the result. They are now about two weeks old, and the next-door neighbor thoughtfully provided this box and blanket when the mother seemed confused about where to move her kittens next.

The crew got together for an adventure to the Timor Boxes as our 4 Day Christmas Work Trip. It was blast as the pcitures show.

This is Malton Signal Box and is a NE S1a type from circa 1873. It has an IFS (Individual Function Switch) panel dating from 1966 but was extended 1993 when the box took over control of Heslerton and Rillington areas. All signals here are colour lights and the crossing is operated from a barrier control unit inside the box. The box works Absolute Block to Weaverthorpe and Kirkham Abbey.
By this point the snow was coming down fast but I think it is a nice addition to the shot.
